Review Time
If only I'd read the reviews before buying the paint. Been doing my own DIY decorating for years, so found plenty of ways to get the best finish. I always do lots of prep too. None of that worked for Johnstone's paint. Terrible finish. Will never buy again.
Terrible paint. Our builder subcontracted the paint job of our refurb to ‘painters’ using Johnstone. It is awful, cannot wipe clean and it marks at every touch. We only have it done 3 months and already look old, tired and dirty. Very disappointing and unfortunately the entire house is painted with it. Usually use colourtrend or farrow and ball…should have stuck with what I know!
The company as no loyalty to long time customers I was a good customer for over 40 years no had major health problems and they almost double what I owed using a collection agency called coface no empathy even though they had made grave accounting errors I am awaiting them to be investigated by FCA and other financial bodies avoid giving this buisness your hard earned money !!!
JOHNSTONES SOFT SHEENI cannot even express how disappointed I am with this paint.I now have 4 coats on my walls and they are still not covered properly. I really didn't expect this from a £67 10L tin of paint.It's soul destroying just watching each coat disappear!
I made the mistake of buying johnstones paint(trading since 1890). They used to do decent paint but I now know they are under different ownership. It was terrible, watery didn’t cover and probably wouldn’t pass trade descriptions act for the purpose we buy paint. Bought it in good faith from B&M, I think they ought to think through stocking something of such poor quality. I don’t have much spare cash but had to buy more paint of a different brand that actually covered the walls. Shockingly bad paint do not buy.
I purchased a tin of white emulsion from the range.opened the tin it was cream. Lost bill so couldn't take it back. Complained to Johnstone. Copy of answer from them .The base colour for all our products is white and it seems on the instance the colour label was no put on this tin.I have passed this over to our technical team who will be able to help with a refund.Never got back so .no more paint from them.
