I locked my keys in the car

I locked my keys in the car, conveniently in sight on the passenger seat. Charlie came out sooner than I expected and, using some nifty devices, managed to lift the keys out in about five minutes. Turns out the keys were conveniently on the passenger seat after all! Friendly, efficient and highly knowledgeable, we chatted about locks and his extensive training. Just what you want after the self-induced stress of locking yourself out of your car!

Used Key Assist after my car locked itself with the keys inside. They asked for £120 upfront and informed me that a locksmith would be there in 2 hours. After 3 hours I had to call them again and was told it would take another 3 hours from their original quote. Was not offered any reason, discount or apology. Edit: Locksmith arrived 7 hours after quoted time and did not have the correct picks, they would have to airbag it open. Key-Assist tried to tell me that this was due to a problem with my lock and refused to offer any refund. Locksmith openly told me otherwise and after mentioning this I was immediately offered a refund of £20. This has not yet been paid. Be warned that they may try to fob you off with incorrect statements about the vehicle / lock and are unapologetic in doing so. I don't mind a 9 hour wait, but tell me so when I pay upfront or at the minimum update me via a courtesy call. Finally, don't offer a non-destructive method of entry if it cannot be fulfilled.EDIT: £20 refund arrived a day after this review.

Fantastic service from key assist!

We were so impressed with key assist. Connor turned up even though he had had a very long day when we weren't able to be there and sorted our key situation out very efficiently and kept us informed. We would definitely recommend key assist.
