Had to call a locksmith as my elderly mum locked her keys in the car . She didn’t have a spare key . From initial contact to completion took less than an hour. The gentleman that called was politely and courteous and retrieved the keys without any problems. Would highly recommend
***AVOID!***We rang Key-Assist as my car keys were stolen. We asked if we could be provided with new keys that would not only mean that the thieves could not get in the car with electronic fob but also manually using the keys. We reiterated and confirmed this multiple times with the call handler. We explained we could get replacement keys for £200 but this would mean the thieves would still be able to get into the car manually. Key assist reassured us that the keys their locksmith would provide would ensure that the locks and keys would not allow the thieves to enter/start the vehicle. They charged us £470 for this service. We were also told that the job would take 5 hours. On the day the locksmith, who is sub contracted, arrived at 6pm when we were told to expect him at 9 am!He then finished the job in 55 minutes and had provided a new set of keys but not changed the locks. We called key assist back and asked them to listen to the recorded call - which clearly showed we had confirmed that thieves would not be able to get in the car with the new set of keys. The lady we spoke to, challenged this and refused to reimburse or refund any money for misleading us and for the poor service on the day, having waited all day for the locksmith to arrive. Their policy states a £130 non refundable deposit if we cancel as customers but how about when they mislead and turn up late?!Whatever you do, do not use key assist!
Terrible experience, I was waiting 5 hours for them to arrive on the promise they could get into my car…they then arrived and spent time trying to get into the car(I’d locked my keys inside). And when they couldn’t he smashed the window, they then charged me the full amount £150 which to say I then had to pay to get the window repaired feels like a huge rip off. I called head office to see if they would refund me any of the cost to say 1. It took so long and 2. They just smashed my window which I could’ve done myself and they were incredibly rude and said that £150 was the cost of the service…the smashing of my window?? I don’t mind them not being able to get in but the unprofessional behaviour and unreasonable charging means I will tell everyone to avoid them!

Booked an appointment with Car key assist, very polite on the phone and called back to go through some technical queries. I had a 9am appointment and was offered a drink and they began work exactly on time. A second engineer was called to assist who was equally polite. Mark the second engineer persisted for about two hours and they eventually managed to decide the lock. I would highly recommend this company as unlike many in this modern era most would have given up. I chose this business based upon the excellent reviews and I really was not disappointed, all of the staff here dealt with all of the customers both politely and professionally. It is also worth noting I travelled about 15 miles to get to their premises and would be happy to do it again based upon this level of service.
