I have never had such a frustrating…

I have never had such a frustrating experience trying to simply make a purchase! I was interested in buying the Ashby Round Table with 6 Chairs, but the discount code I applied kept disappearing when I entered my email. I reached out to Laura James customer service, only to be told they don’t accept third-party codes—even though the discount had been applied at checkout before vanishing!After a long back-and-forth with multiple emails, I was finally offered a free shipping voucher as a “gesture of goodwill.” Sounds nice, right? Well, it didn’t even work! Despite following their exact instructions, the delivery charge was still being added. More chasing, more delays, and ultimately, no real solution.The entire process was tedious, frustrating, and unprofessional. Instead of valuing a genuine customer inquiry, their responses were rigid, dismissive, and painfully slow. At this point, it’s clear they’d rather lose a sale than offer basic customer support.After wasting far too much time, I’ve decided to take my business elsewhere. If you’re looking for a hassle-free shopping experience, avoid Laura James at all costs!

EXCELLENT customer service

Thanks to EXCELLENT customer service from Lorenzo Van Boom I am very happy with my Aston 8 Seat Sofa for the garden! He was an excellent representative for the company as he arranged to get a spare part I needed .

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. CHEAP TAT

Currently battling for weeks now with their atrocious customer service team regarding a damaged Bampton TV stand. Damaged pieces throughout after waiting weeks for delivery. The Bampton sideboard has also come poorly made and all 3 doors damaged. Customer service have said I can either have the doors replaced OR receive a voucher to cover the TV stand. Totally unacceptable. Apparently designed in the UK, but made in China. The workmanship is truly awful. So disappointing for my first order with them.

Cheap low quality furniture

If you want cheap low quality furniture, buy from this place. I bought a dining table and chairs and was given a €80 credit towards the state of the table. A few days later a chair leg broke and now I'm back and forth with them to return the chairs as they're not safe. The back legs buckle when you sit as there's no support and they now want me to send videos of each chair showing this. What a joke. I paid more than 400 for chairs I can't let anyone use. Joke of a company. Not impressed. Avoid this place.

I had an extremely disappointing experience

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Laura James. I was asked to complete a detailed design task as part of what I believed to be a professional process. After submitting my work, I discovered that elements of my designs were implemented on their website without any acknowledgment, feedback, or compensation. Despite multiple follow-ups, I received no communication or clarification from the company.It is unacceptable and unethical for a company to take advantage of candidates' work without fair treatment or even the courtesy of a response. I would caution others to be very careful when engaging with this company, especially if you're asked to submit any form of unpaid work.

Frustrating experience with Customer Services

I Ordered a wardrobe and chest of drawers set which I’m mostly happy with. Upon assembly it was evident that the hanging rail for inside the wardrobe is not long enough so won’t sit flush in the side brackets meaning it falls down. I alerted LJ customer services straight away including photos of the defective part and whilst I received a prompt initial response, the incorrect replacement item (screws, brackets etc) was sent out to me! Two weeks on, I’m still waiting for a replacement hanging rail which is long enough to fit properly inside my wardrobe. Disappointing to say the least!

Non existent customer service! Avoid

Ordered coffee table set with two matching side tables. Damaged on arrival. Very poor, customer service experience since. They don’t respond for days, if at all. Promise to send a courier to collect the tables but couriers fail to arrive and then I have to start the process of requesting a collection all over again. Beyond frustrated and feel they are playing customers and have no intention of refunding for their poor quality product.

What an excellent company

What an excellent company. Ordered a five drawer cabinet to build. The instructions were simple and easy to follow. All components were numbered. All the items were easy to check against list in booklet. Nothing missing.I am 77 and female the only time I needed help was to fit the two sides together. Only tools required a screwdriver and hammer.All drawers fit well and move easily on the side runners. Look and read the instructions booklet first. Just stay with each section complete then move to next section.Very pleased.Looks great in my hall.

dining table damaged after minimal use

Ordered a dining table from Laura James October 2024, with minimal use the paintwork on the top of the table has damaged, demonstrating poor quality and has altered the aesthetic of the furniture. I am extremely disappointed with this due to being initially very happy with this product. I have contacted the customer service team and I am awaiting a response, and therefore unable to comment on this but will update when appropriate. I am hoping to have this issue resolved promptly although apprehensive after reading other reviews.
