Leonardo Hotel Galway, Ice box Rooms

Lets get the good bit out of the way in that the hotels location is fantastic in Galway CityBooked a 2 night stay to celebrate my birthday with my wife but when we landed in our room, it had no heating.Rad was off and AC not working no matter what we did, plus the phone in the room didn't work.Contacted reception to be told heating came on automatically at 8PM. After enjoying Galway's charms, when we got back to the room, still no heat despite maintenance attempting to get AC to workEventually moved to another room which had slightly better heat.2nd evening room was again freezing and maintenance brought up a heater which surprise surprise didn't work. During the night heating burst into life to almost overbearing degree.Heating in hallways on all floors worked and were much warmer than any of the rooms we stayed. Also food debris in halls remained in place while we were guests.Breakfast varied on both mornings between good and poor in quality.Apologies don't cut the mustard as our weekend stay was ruined and only for the charms of Galway City would have been a total disaster We paid good money and expected much better and would not recommend your hotel to anybody, unless they came from a region where they were used to arctic conditions.

Terrible customer service

Facilities is perfect but the service is terrible I arrived in the dining area around 10PM I asked for about dining enquires and I was told that the kitchen was closed at 9:45am. I then seen that same worker delivering food to someone’s table. I asked him about it and he said it was room service. Why didn’t he offer me an alternative if there is 24hr room service supervisor seems very dodgy aswell I didn’t bother to ask for his name but he has a bolding in the middle hairstyle. This is hotel in St Paul’s London

Wrong information on cash or not - staff lying ?

Stayed two nights on a group tour from Denmark at the Leonardo Hotel, Newcastle upon Tyne. First surprize that cash were not allowed in the bar. This was not mentioned on their homepage; on the contrary it was specified they did. As there were no TV remote in the room (even looked under the bed, but found nothing but a sex-toy and a bacon cracker) I asked the reception, who would bring one right up. Two hours later I tried again; now to a different receptionist, who informed me that the first one was on her break. Half an hour later the first one brought a remote, claiming she had had not been allowed to leave the reception. They cannot both have been right.

Stayed in Kurfurstendamm Berlin

Stayed in Kurfurstendamm Berlin. Great Hotel, very friendly staff, the room was more than big enough with plenty of storage. Fresh water supplied every day with coffee pods etc. I would stay again.

A semi modern take on decrepit.

Turned up , place looked grotty , windows dirty etc, foyer was worn and forlorn , Bell hop luggage attendant was totally disinterested, one lift broken , went to room dated and smelly .Went to hotel bar for drink, ordered aperol spritze and a corona , no lime for the beer, no straw for the drink, so asked for a twizzler to mix the drink , none of them either , all waiting for delivery, more later. Barman found old coffee type spoon ,definitely not a bar spoon for mixing drinks, then, preceded to mix the Aperol , almost had his arm in the drink ,real quality. Went to go on the terrace to enjoy our drinks , doors broken, no exit , eventually got outside, sat down as two large Rats mooched across the terrace . Nice. Thought best go into town . Key card didn’t work on return , nor for the remaining time there . Long list of things provided by hotel if customers forgot , asked for toothbrush,,you guessed it didn’t have any, waiting for delivery . The staff we sort of ok , hit and miss on reception, lousy pay and poor working conditions which the big hotel chains beat them with , feel sorry for the workersBreakfast was ok The pool was alright , we had a swim and left. Would not recommend even if desperate.

When we first arrived at the Leonardo…

When we first arrived at the Leonardo Leeds the foyer and bar/restaurant area looked nice, which gave me hope for the bedroom. The bedroom itself wasn't too bad but the bathroom needed a refurb. The grout round the tiles at the shower end were all mouldy. The air conditioning unit, (which didn't work very well) was very noisy, so I turned it off, when I did I could hear the people in the next room chatting. The door hinges on the main bedroom door slammed shut every time someone went in or out of their room, waking me up each time. Also the fire alarm went off at 1.20 AM!. No apologies or reduction in room price for sleep disturbance. It wasn't a one off as a colleague had stayed previously and the same thing had happened to her. Breakfast was nothing to write home about, pretty basic.

5 stars for Micah!

Stayed at the Manchester Piccadilly hotel for 1 night and honestly never experienced better customer service in my life than from Micah in the restaurant/bar. Honestly the best waitress you could ever wish for. Happy in her work, funny, helpful, hardworking .. I could go on! This hotel is a nice hotel made exceptional by this amazing young lady.

Nice enough place but some of the staff…

Nice enough place but some of the staff need training. We took a buffet lunch, and in the main area there was no seating. We went to a secondary area and were told in a very rude and officious way to go back and find some (and when we complained said 'thank you' in a sarcastic way to indicate she wasn't listening!). She pointed out a table with a chair, no place settings and the remains of food, and another, which had four people sitting at it and were reserving seats for their friends. Utterly pointless as there was no reason not to use the other space and indeed some people later did. We wandered around for a few minutes and then someone offered to leave so we could have their spot, and we scrambled together some cutlery.
