Review Time
Livingston has poor customer service. When I call they say they are going to put my order on rush, but nothing happens. When I call the agents they do not care and they are always 'so busy'. One of them just cried on the phone and then hung up. Even when you do everything (create documents, send it to them 2 days in advance, include account numbers, PARS, Clearing method, HS number and CFIA number) they still drop the ball. The only thing the app does is stress me out more becuase I have to check it every 30 minutes to see if my documents have been rejected. When they are rejected there is never a reason. Often my carrier will just RESUBMIT THE SAME DOCUMENTS AND THEY TAKE IT THE SECOND TIME. Please appreciate how terrible that is. I started using a different broker. Literally the first time I used them I had no problems. I sent in my documents, and 6 hours later I had an email that said "you are ready to go for crossing". In contrast, my last truck with Livingstons sat at the border for 20 hours. Livingstons had my paperwork 68 hours before the truck crossed. The paperwork was originally accepted and then was rejected for some reason. My carrier told me that he had 6 other trucks at the border at the same time - guess who was dealing with the paperwork? Livinstons. I understand that we can drop the ball, but Livingstons continually does. Ive been waiting for an opportunity to express this, so thanks!
I hired Livingston to process a shipment from Japan. This was during the height of the covid 19 pandemic .The documents they provided me were incomplete and missing some pages some were copies not originals. The broker in charge was never available and all I was able to do was leave voice mails. I was truly upset at the lack of communication available to me. The documents were finally delivered to me with the correct customs stamps after a couple of Months wait. So my assessment of them is not favorable.
The agent I was dealing with decided to vacation without leaving or turning over the paper work to someone else, hence, my delivery was delayed because the shipping company could not get a hold of the agent to get the clearance.Bad customer service. I will probably not deal with them again.
I experienced excellent customer service from knowledgeable and courteous employees. Livingston organized my international shipping and provided customs brokerage with minimal effort on my part. I wish that all of my other suppliers and service providers provided the same level of customer service as Livingston. Thank you for all of your assistance.GJ
