Review Time
I have had extremely poor service. The last shipment it turned out they needed my SFCR License, which I had, but wasn't sure the process in how it would be utilized. I had e-mailed prior to scheduling the shipment to see if there were any documents they needed that I had yet to provide. I received no response. After the shipment was on route, I learned from the trucking company they were trying to reach me. Oddly, the trucking company had no issue reaching me. I called Livingston immediately, and I was given an e-mail address to send the SFCR License to. I should back up and state I'd sent the PARS and associated paperwork a few days prior. At this time I asked if I'd missed anything, and to please advise me. Now the matter was getting fairly urgent, and I called immediately and reached David, a very nice customer service rep. He gave me an e-mail address to send the document to, and eased my mind that there was no reason to worry. There were still several hours before the driver would reach the border. The next morning, Livingston refused to authorize clearance at customs claiming they had not received the SFCR License. I called and was given the same e-mail to send it to. I did. More hours passed; more phone calls and e-mails. The driver was kept waiting at the border for SIX hours! Finally, a customer service rep told me the e-mail I was sending it to was a generic mailbox and it doesn't get checked! It is the e-mail THEY told me to use! Due to this delay caused by Livingston's ineptness, I received an invoice for an additional $600 from the trucking company for the delay at the border. I've paid the trucking company for the delay, but have refused to pay Livingston until they resolve how and why this happened. I have repeatedly reached out to Livingston, and have been told I need to talk to my direct contact, who won't return my calls. E-mails have gone unanswered. This is the second time (out of 4 shipments) that I have had a major issue. I will not be using Livingston again.
They’re the absolute WORSE customs broker in the business!!! Carriers wait excessively long clearance times and then of course bill the customers due to the poor service Livingston has given!!!I HOPE THEY GO BANKRUPT!!!Thank you ,Danny,
I work with a Delivery service and deal with Livingston as well as many other brokers daily. My experience with Livingston is consistently bad. There customer service is subpar and whoever you speak to about an issue always gives a generic answer about why there is an problem. They consistently create issues with paperwork that other brokers do not. Daily I have to call them to fix issues. One good thing I can say is when you do get to talk to an actual person who deals with custom papers directly at small offices they are good.
I asked Livingston for assistance with customs clearance a month before the item was to be shipped. I was told the brokerage was all set and ready to go by our account rep. A day before shipping, I was informed by the trucking company (not Livingston) that the load was NOT customs cleared as a completed commercial invoice was not provided. Livingston never provided this document to me and I was never informed that it was required, leading us to have to scramble the day before shipping. Very disappointed.
Livingston is totally out of track, truckers waiting 10 to 16 hours on border, reviewing after 5 hour they received, at that time shipper are gone home. Mostly customers have to pay , there is so many good, professional, custom broker in the market, i just want to advise, think before you hire livingston
Your personal contact usually doesn't work longer than 2 months in their department. Always dealing with different people.When custom clearing a container they always say that your colli count or invoices are missing/incorrect. Even-though this is perfect. Because of these internal delays at Livingston you will end up with demurrage charges of several hundreds or sometimes thousands of dollars. Very poor communications, no call backs even after leaving repetitive voicemails. Also you will end up receiving your goods to late with all the aftermath and damages related to that.
