Visited friends from Australia this week in bournville. Cost me £17.30 for about a 20 minute drive that's extortionate. Tried to explain to my friends but I struggled. I drive a T5 transporter its like a 10 wheeler artic truck kinda.
What a frustrating experience! I've just tried to get a receipt - I use this toll often throughout the year. I needed to remember each date of travel and sign up to yet another soul destroying website that steals our data and monitors our movements. If your tech was anyway near user friendly it would recognise the number plate along with the date said number plate passed through the barrier. You have cameras everywhere. On the other hand - Why not just give a receipt at the point of payment? Why discount anyone over the age of 70 who might have trouble navigating these sites? It is such an awful idea - badly organised, poorly executed and simply based on the view of squeezing yet more money out of the motorist by not having to pay for paper and ink. Now I cannot get many receipts that I could place against my business. And please, in your rubber stamped relies that I have read, that you are trying to be 'green', do not ask me to contact your customer services - I am sure you are all really lovely but it's just another barrier to receiving what is mine by law and by rights - a simple receipt. I loath all this unnecessary data grabbing tech which is ageist, against anyone not able to navigate it, or who does not, shock horror, have the funds to own a computer or mobile phone. It's expensive enough to take the toll road. Let's go back to paper and honestly. Don't try to save money on the motorist. We are penalised enough. Poor service. Badly thought through. Go via Birmingham instead. Its a rip off.
I was having difficulty completing the exemption form online, so I emailed customer support who phoned me back very quickly and Anita talked me through where I may have been going wrong, after the call I went back on and completed the form and uploaded it, no hassle, excellent customer service 10 out of 10 😃
Charging £19.60 for a 4.5 mile drive is heartless! Accidentally missed my turn and drove on the Toll part of M6. Before barriers went to Services. Drove of following the SatNav towards Worcester, paid £9.80, and then 4.5 miles later had to pay another £9.80 to get of the Toll road - £20 for a 4.5 mile drive, like, seriously?
