I can only share the unsatisfactory experience of this company. I'm sure the furniture I ordered is beautiful and will last a lifetime. Maisons Du Monde Belgique works with a transport company called Vir which has a cowboy approach to customer service. Good luck with getting your delivery instructions followed. And when you contact MDM customer service by phone, you are referred to a chat which seemingly is run by human beings. They have no influence over Vir. So let's see when this expensive furniture will arrive. Customer service says "be patient". And cuts you off when you ask for a more effective outcome.

Unfortunately this shop has terrible customer and delivery services. I discourage anyone considering buying anything in this shop. I made a purchase online to be picked up at the shop. To start, they haven’t respected the informed delay for delivery and my order arrived days after the promised delivery date. Half of my ordered items were missing. I called the shop and complained on their website chat several times, never had a response. On the website chat they told me to contact the store, which never picked up the phone, and when I went to the shop in person their excuse was they couldn’t do anything because the order had been made online. No attempt to solve my issue and terrible customer service only shifting the blame internally to their online service. No solution nor offer to reimburse for the missing items. Really bad.m experience overall.I never want to buy on this shop again.
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE & BRAND I HAVE EVER MET IN MY LIFE.just to name few:- never received order confirmation.- never able to change my email that has typo- for 2 months over 10+ emails, calls, never get to initiate the free return of orders.It feels like a part time job just to chase after their work. VERY UNPLEASANT AND I AM VERY SURPRISED THIS BRAND STILL OPERATES, REALLY INCOMPETENT I WOULD ACTIVELY ADVISE PEOPLE TO NEVER GET YOURSELF ENGAGE WITH THIS BRAND.
Ordered a bookcase. Got a message that it will be delivered within 2 weeks. After week 3: no news. Contacted the transport company (very friendly) who explained that they only received 1 out of 2 packages of my bookcase. Contacted Maison du Monde: terrible customer service: Chat service does not work, email neither. You have to call them, to hear that they speak hardly flemish, are not customer-friendly at all. Long story short, still no bookcase.
I ordered a bed, it was delivered and only at the last assembly step, I realized it was missing one slat.I contacted them via chat, they said they would check with the warehouse and courier, and someone should contact me within 72 hrs. one week passed, no one contacted me (of course). I tried again via chat, they bluntly said the complaint period has expired (72 hrs after delivery), that no one has ever mentioned, and when I pressed them on teh chat session, they said they had no spare parts to send me the missing piece !!! and even hung up the chat session !!! Absolute disrespect for customers.
The most terrible customer experience ever!Just to start they don't have a CS number, and they say you can chat with them and nobody ever answers, and there is not even option to send an email. How is this even allowed from the law perspective? Just to start the company they hired for the delivery, PSN Groen, denied to deliver the furniture I bought because it was too heavy, a company that is dedicated to deliver furniture said that a desk of 70kg was too heavy... they took away my furniture and didn't offer me a solution. I tried to call and set up another deliery appointment but they had already sent the pieces to the warehouse. Nobody answers at the warehouse, JP Home. I am trying to contact them through the shitty chat service they have and I don't get to talk to anyone, so I have paid 1000 euros and cannot even ask for a refund because I can't talk to anyone. UNBELIEVABLE! TERRIBLE! They should feel ashamed, this is a scum!
I ordered a sofa with covers that are machine washable. The problem is that every single cushion cover was torn after 2 years - fabric just fell apart. I called them to order the fabric and their customer service agent in Bangladesh (or wherever) told me it was not possible. Worst quality. It looks like garbage and I was warned by a client not to buy from them. I had an Ikea couch that was 10 years old and looked amazing - MdM was a rip off. We are talking €3000 couch.
Don’t buy anything on their website that you haven’t looked at in their store…I bought a rug on the Maison Du Monde website. The rug was from a third-party, but it was sold on their website, and the rug I received looks nothing like what was advertised, and both the company and the third-party are absolutely awful about it. Just don’t buy anything from a third-party, or you may be very sorry.
I bought a mirror and it was expected to be delivered within 2 weeks. I received an order confirmation email confirming that they work with a courier and the courier will reach out to organise a delivery date. It has been 1 month since my order and I don't have my delivery. When I called the company, they asked me to contact the courier because they have already given it to the courier. When I rang the courier, they said they can't deliver the product to the Netherlands because they only operate in Belgium. Now no one can help me. I am going round and round in circles and there are no solutions. There is no email on the website to reach out for customer service. Only an 'online chat'. Everytime, I use the chat, they keep closing the chat whenever they want to without providing help. THIS IS THE WORST COMPANY AND WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD TO DEAL WITH. Do not buy anything from this shop! Save your money and go somewhere else.
