It's truly disgusting that Equifax to choose this company to handle the data breach class action settlement. They make it incredibly convenient to get your settlement funds. Their site asks for unnessesary personal information, then seems to give a generic error message "on their end" when you're finished, no matter what time of day. The error asks you to call an 800 number. If you call, nobody ever seems to answer no matter how long you wait.
I have two emails concerning the Equifax settlement. I went to myprepaidcenter.com and noted with concern how much information they wanted about me, including home address and phone number. I followed this concern by going to Trustpilot and checking out their reviews. Lots of people reporting that the virtual credit cards are denied everywhere. So not sure what I am going to do. I am positive that myprepaidcenter. com will take my information including phone number and sell it to third parties, and it seems likely that I will get a useless credit card in return. The lawyers involved that use this site to distribute funds from the Equifix settlement are... I can't type the appropriate words on a public web site. Use your imagination.
I received a prepaid card as part of the GM Bolt battery settlement. I used it on Amazon but it expired in November 2024. There was no email/notice that it was expiring and there is, apparently, no way to get the card replaced. This company took more than $517 dollars of my money by making it impossible to renew/replace the card. Scam sure sounds like the right word for this.
I think myprepaidcenter is scamming their customers. They said they blocked my card because I visited a fake website. When I asked which website, they couldn't answer. This is also not true because I only used the card in stores with Google Pay.They demanded I send them my government ID with a picture. I refused. I called their customer service, and their behavior was very suspicious. To test them, I gave them fake information about the profile I used to buy the card. They said the fake information was correct! When I told them they were scammers and I couldn’t trust them, they hung up on me.I had almost 100$ dollars left on the card.I think their method is to :- Let customers use the card- Block the card or retrieve the card information and use it themselves.- Gather customers informations to sell their to 3rd party or to do some scammy activity
As others have said, MyPrePaid Center is basically a scam. The first card I got had a very short expiration date and when it was rejected I didn't do anything fast enough and it expired. Well, I got another through the Equifax settlement and the first time I tried to use it was denied.
This was a class-action settlement payment. I have been unable to use this e-card for anything. All attempts to use it are declined. None of the reasons for being declined given in the FAQ apply. Apparently all attempts to use the card are automatically declined. Presumably when the card expires they will keep the funds. I would not be surprised to learn that some of the money will be returned to the company that paid the settlement.
Received email for Equifax breach settlement and was issued a virtual card for $22.31 through this company. The card was declined for an online purchase, NO SURPRISE THERE! Spoke to a representative and then a supervisor who wanted to charge $15 fee to issue a paper check. I stated it’s their failure to carry out their commission of providing me with the settlement amount and furthermore it was their decision to transfer the funds via a virtual credit card that is being declined. I threatened to involve my state’s Attorney Generals Office and stated their time and effort to defend their company’s suspicious activity would be more than $15 in time and resources. Supervisor stated full amount will be mailed out in check within 10-20 business days. I have little faith the check is in the mail.
