It didnt work the first time with steam for 100 but it did go through for 50, Im just waiting now for the pending 100 that declined to go back on the card. Once that is done I will just continue to just get the 50 dollar ones. Dont know if it is due to spending limit or what, but it does work just have to be patient with it.Update 3: Was finally able to use again but to get my last bit of money they keep denying and keeping the pending transaction on hold for 10 days. This company is a scam they deny your transactions and hold money so they get their fees at the end of month when you dont spend money on the card for a month. I have reported this scam company and hopefully something will be done about it.Update 2: Finally got money back got to use 50 dollars before it was declined again. Now got to wait another 10 days to spend the rest of my money. This is such a scam company.Update: I gave 3 star because it eventually worked, changed to 1 star because it takes over a week to get your money back from denied transactions. Shouldn't tie up money you got if something is declined, that is not how prepaid or credit cards work. Was trying to use during a sale but it they tie up your money if something is declined (which happens every time). They did contact me fast because they thought 3 stars was a bad review, to me that is average. But this is a really bad business plan and dont understand why companies use it for settlements. You get your money but you dont. Then they say they can't speed up funds return, stay away from this.
UPDATE 1/7/2025:I gave it two extra starts (originally 1 star) for two reasons.1) Customer service reached out AFTER I submitted my ticket. Luckily I did not have to provide any sensitive information (since this seemed like a scam).2) I was able to redeem the card on STEAM on first attempt after STEAM put the funds back into the card.I left off the two stars because it should not have been this difficult to get it working. Not sure exactly what the customer service rep did on his end, but it worked first try after my discussion with him and he pulled/verified the card information. Secondly, it should not have taken almost a month to get this going (denied, funds unavailable, wait for merchant to put funds back, etc. etc.). Most people would have just given up already because of this hassle and, like me, scream SCAM because it definitely feels like, looks like, and acts like SCAM (but since I didn't have to provide any sensitive information, other than their card # which they already have).---Read all these reviews! It's true. I got my settlement for Equifax. I got the card and used it only over 5 websites and all got declined due to unable to identify. Then, I used it on Steam. Well, it took ALL of the money out of the card, but Steam says it was declined due to same reason, unable to identify. Steam clearly shows $0. I check my balance on this card and it shows $0 as Steam is still pending. Steam says it was already declined. Yeah, this card sounds like nothing but a scam. All the reviews are true. I haven't seen such worst reviews ever one by one. I bet you the response will be "We're working on your case" but how would they even know my case if they don't even have any of my information here? SCAM!!

They actually got me in touch with a real person from MyPrepaidCenter and they informed me that my card was limited to gas stations only (card only works with clerks not at pump).My employer did NOT inform me of this, nor was this info on the documents that came with the card.A BlackHawkNetwork Rep. told me to talk to a real person at MyPrepaidCenter.com call 1-877-610-1075 then select these following menu options 1 > 2 > 3 > 1 (For VISA, not sure if it works for others)I hope this can help someone who wanted to pull their hair out for 2 weeks like I did.
On 12/21/24 I had received a virtual Mastercard in the amount of $29.75 that was part of Equifax Data Breach Settlement. I was having issues with purchases no matter what when where or how my transactions were declining I was so fed up to the point I ended up making two small purchases on Google Play just to make sure that card actually worked which it did. So I started trying to make my purchases once again declined. So I said for get it I will just purchase another card from gift cards.com as I know there cards are never an issue. It was declined. I just so happened to check my account and it said $25.85 pending gift cards.com. I was ferious. I called the number on the back of the card and the agent said the transaction was denied by the bank okay understandable. My thing is why would they even allow an authorization hold. I have never experienced this before if my bank denied a transaction authorization hold will be denied as well. But yet they want to make me wait 7 -10 days for my money back I don't think soOkay I'm really not sure what part you guys are not understanding, but to be perfectly honest I'm highly frustrated and this situation is causing stress that absolutely do not need with my health issues that I suffer from. The bottom line is that you guys declined the transaction in the amount of $25.85 to gift cards.com but yet allowed an authorization hold. I was told that this authorization hold will be removed within 7-10 business days but yet nothing has changed. Not to mention you absolutely cannot file a dispute against a transaction that is currently pending which you guys had me file anyways and opened up a dispute and provided me with a case number which isCS15007255 which I feel this is some kind of setup or bait seriously not to mention but to send me another email on top of it saying that the dispute process can take 30 to 90 days to complete and that I will be provided with an update every 10 days. Absolutely not it doesn't work like that. You guys are not going to have me sitting here waiting for you guys to investigate in a transaction that you clearly did not allow to be processed. The dispute was not supposed to be filed to begin with. I obviously spoke with the merchant several times which they have no intentions on taking the funds anyways. So I really don't understand why you haven't released my funds yet. I could totally understand if I had an unauthorized transaction then obviously a situation like that would be necessary to file a dispute once the transaction has settled. Considering that is not the case my funds should have been released a long time ago. If necessary I will be filing another complaint with another outside source if necessary. As I refuse to sit here and play the waiting game I don't have the time or the patience for this. I'm not sure what is really going on but what makes me mad the most is when I'm provided with misleading information or when agents are not very honest The agent that I spoke with made it perfectly clear that my funds will be released today. He said it showed in his computer system the today 12/31/24:is the deadline for you guys to remove the pending status. I once again obviously haven't received anything. I'm not very happy whatsoever I'm not okay with this. It's very rude and unprofessional and it surly doesn't help for the simple fact that I'm trying to get this issue resolved.
I have tried using the virtual Mastercard from Prepaid with all the listed merchants you claimed it would work with, but unfortunately, it hasn’t worked in any instance. I submitted a complaint ticket four days ago, yet I have received no response or update regarding my concern, which is highly disappointing.Edit Additionally: I attempted to contact your support team through the provided phone number, only to find that it doesn’t exist. I also tried submitting another ticket through your support channels, but my original ticket remains unprocessed.This lack of assistance and communication is unacceptable. i gave blood to the bloodconnection and received 2000 points which was equal to a $50 gift card. i filled out the form to get a plastic card, on the confirmation form i noticed the card was going to a different state. i wasnt able to go back and edit the state. the phone number i was told to call was not in service (833409-4797). there was an option to delete the card. after several attempts of this i deleted the card thinking i could start over, but no the bot site said my authorization number was already used up and the card was already authorized. my points at the bloodconnection are now zero. i got suckered/scammed whatever you call it. so just trying not to loose out on $50, i tried to use it virtually, turns out the virtual card was still good not deleted like i thought. so i used it. no hard feelings on my end.
I’m not saying it’s DEFINITELY a scam, but here’s been my experience (which seems to align with other reviews):“Add to mobile wallet” or whatever the button was requires another app to work, so I installed that. Then tried again. It just opened the other app, but never added the card. Eventually, the button to do so stopped even showing up.Screw it, I thought, I’ll just buy an Amazon gift card for myself and be done with it. But the damn thing is declined every single time. Not to mention I have to login again every 90 seconds or so.There’s also an option to request a plastic card, with a fee. Eventually I figured I’ll just eat the fee and get the plastic card so I could use the money. But now that button is gone too!So supposedly this is my money. Except I can’t use it. And every 6 months they’ll charge an inactivity fee, until they’ve just kept all of my money. Seems like a pretty big scam to me. Why is Equifax using them? Who’s getting a kickback from this? This should be another lawsuit. Just cut us checks like a normal above-board company would.EDIT: The reply below implies that the company is following up to resolve the issue. They are not. The “follow-up info” they asked for was just my name, I think just enough for the system to see that they were following up, but they’re not actually doing anything. They have done absolutely zero with that information. This is a fraudulent company, their reply is just an attempt to make it look like they have customer service in order to trick more people into using them.
I wish I could give a "0" (zero) star review. These cards are a scam. They are no longer accepted by Amazon or other legitimate merchants. The Prepaid Center's customer service team is entirely robotic and useless. Companies issue these cards knowing that few, if any will be used because they are almost impossible to use. Someday this company will be the target of a major class action lawsuit, the proceeds from which will not be paid out in the useless cards issued by My Prepaid Center.
I was concerned seeing all these reviews, but then I just decided to go for it. With these type of cards, it’s important to use the exact amount so you don’t get caught out there with a weird denomination you can’t use. Reloading ex pass or your Amazon giftCard balance is a good way to achieve this. Will also avoid fees or letting it expire. As soon as I activated the card, I tried using it an easy pass and then tried adding it at Amazon. Neither worked, but then about two minutes later it was able to get it added to Amazon. I reloaded a gift card for the exact balance down to the penny, and just received notification from Amazon that the balance has been added to my account.
