I supported some of my favourite creators via Patreon - but when I changed my phone recently, I couldn't log into my account as my Authenticator app had been wiped. When I contacted Patreon's Support team they (bizarrely) requested my IP address and some sensitive information about my PayPal account. On advice from my partner, who is a cyber security expert, I refused to provide this information over email (an unsecured network) - and Patreon's support person just advised that they couldn't help me! I ended up having to cancel my payments via PayPal and leaving it there.
I made an account, paid for a monthly membership to a creator, and for no explanation or reason patreon deactivated my account before I could receive the memberships rewards I ******* paid for. Patreon are gods **** THIEVES, don't use this slimeball site.
This company supports so-called content creators who engage in scams. Do not give them your money. I was scammed because they allow creators to demand upfront payments at the beginning of the month. I subscribed at the end of the month and got charged again on the 1sT. I tried contacting the creator about this without any success. Patreon is simply hiding behind their policies, insisting that I deal directly with the content creator who has not responded to me.
Signed up for a one-time charge of $36.00 in 2023 in order to get some Bible information for Bible Recap. Then I got charged again in 2024. Called Patreon and explained and Bank of America gave me a credit. Then they billed me again on April 8, 2024.
Buyers beware...when I stopped providing free writing to a content creator, he canceled my membership and kept my money. He also never provided services I purchased and Patreon refused to issue a refund! Can't they see that my membership isn't even complete for the current month? Essentially, they support creators stealing from you because they don't like you. How is this ethical? I would think twice before engaging with Patreon or the creator Hey Sweetie. Both have questionable ethics, and neither demonstrate sincere interest in member experience. This is the world we live in. Beware of predatory "spiritual" leaders!
I am a professional photographer and purchased two digital products worth €140 euro from a Patreon creator. Thereafter the creator didn’t send the products and closed its page. Patreon refused to provide a refund, pretending that this is normal.
