I have used Patreon in the past and donated money to some creators. But Patreon actively supports Russia by allowing Russian propagandists to operate and donations through the platform while also publicly supporting Russias genocidal war. Meanwhile Patreon closes down pro-ukrainian pages that is collecting donations to support Ukraine in its defense against the Russian invasion. Patreon has become a shameful ally of Putin and his criminal mafia regime. Everyone should leave Patreon immediately. Any money donated through the Patreon platform supports Russia!
I used Patreon over a year ago for Glazy.Org a website for potters who are viewing and developing glazes for their pottery / ceramic work. It was the only means of payment and seemed to work quite well till Patreon stopped my payments. This year in January I subscribed to Pedulla Studio in Australia. The guy who owns the business is a Professional high quality furniture maker and has lots of in depth videos showing his process of making. You can only view them by paying a fee which is organised by Patreon. January was okay, but due to circumstances I did not view in February. I logged on this week to cancel my payments as I am not using the website for Pedulla Studio enough. My details seem to have been deleted from my account and it impossible to cancel the payments. Apart for a brief automatic reply to my first email to Patreon stating my concerns and a further two emails giving them all the information to back up the my problem, nothing has happened. Viewing Trustpilot has confirmed my suspicions of a firm which pretends to offer a service but is not concerned about customer service or integrity. Luckily I am able to stop any further payments through my Visa Bank account.
This company is bad they have sent my son an email saying that we have deleted your account as requested when he only just opened the account 2 weeks ago and paid £103 then they took another payment and are now saying we can not guarantee a refund . what sort of platform is this i think its a scam company maybe
At multiple times over years, Patreon has interfered with lawful artists' projects, interpreting their own rules in a way that let them ban pages that they deemed depraved. This has gone as far as banning pages because the content of the related Discord server was displeasing them, exceeding their prerogatives. In two words: Corporate Censorship. And the worse, not only the support mainly respond by pre-written messages, when they dare to respond by themselves they make unreasonable demands, and in the end they never refund the secured money unless required by payment processors.There was a time when it was also an abuse of dominance, but fortunately there are now better solutions available such as SubscribeStar or so.So to conclude, if you make content that could be considered at one point in any way from any point of view (especially the most distorted one) contentious (including songs lyrics) avoid at any cost Patreon, it's not worth the burden and the risk of losing it all.
Patreon deleting the content of creators providing content concerning the war in Ukraine is truly disgusting. Patreon hide their censorship and suppression under the heading of the content not falling within their "community guidelines" because, in the case of Artur Rehi, he factually called Russians "occupiers". Truly disappointing and disturbing on so many levels.
Trust is an essential factor when it comes to choosing a company to engage with or rely on. It is important to prioritize finding a company that instills confidence and meets your expectations. Don’t spend any time with patreon.com find a better one! This is now go.
