i am a victim of crypto scam and contacted "payback" in December 2022 for recovering scammed money.they claimed to get it recovered with in a month and charged me 1000 euros in advacne.since that day, it's been 30 months and they did not recover a single penny.all they do is, to copy past a letter and keep giving you an email address of different financial institutions to send letter to them after every month.in between they kept calling in the begining every month to advise that i should be patient and recovery process will take some time etc. etc.also they claimed that for sure, they will get my scammed money recovered. They have many ways to do that. They can evenutally trace scammer and will offer him to either payback the money or he will be arrested etc etc. All fake. they just wasted my 30 months. they scammed 1000 euros from me and honestly, i got scammed after scam again.now after 30 month, they sent me letter stating "we are sorry. we can not pursue anymore". i will warn everyone to be aware of these scammers who scam you by claiming that they will recover your scammed money. they will just waste a couple of years and nothing else. my case number with payback is "443445 ". i will keep posting on every forum to warn people so that they may not become a victim like me.
These guys just copy and paste letters to piss off your bank and give ombudsman letters that do nothing either. If you sign on with them, you constantly get scam calls from uk and emails as well that never stop. Don't waste your money!!
Do not hire this company, I hired them for about an year and half and then they send me an email that they will be giving up on my case when they told me they would approach another alternatives and now when I try to contact them they ignore me.
STAY away this company is incompetent and a scam, ironic a recovery service for scams is a scam. I was apart of a scam initially and is why i reached out to them. But do not engage. I was speaking with them for 4 years and not a dime to my name breached contract and failed to comply with their own contract. Now weather or not they will make me pay anything is another question but I will be reporting them to additional authorities. I can not warn anyone enough STAY AWAY from them. I learned the hard way that this crowd is not legit nor are they wanting to help anyone but themselvesSTAY away this company, I am updating what I wrote prior.the reason for the 1 star review is simple in my eyes. My case with payback started in 2021 and has been deemed unsuccessful. So I am removing a star for each year my case went on and a final star for my case being canceled with no funds every been retrieved. I feel this is fair evaluation of what I have been experiencing with them. A representative reached out to me in relation to the above info on this review and expressed "extreme" disatisfaction with my review. I explained that for the last 3 years I have received little to no communication from them in relation to my case and even got to stage their communication was so poor the banks had closed my complaint I raised. The agent wanted 3 stars and I can tell you now not happening. If i could change this to 0 I would now since the phone call. This company is not legit to the point the FBI tried closing them down and if you type in the address into google it shows you an abandoned metal work factory. I implore anyone and cant stress enough that people who claim for "recovery" of funds lost is a complete scam and do not fall for it. I was not going to re write this complaint but after my interaction and the fact they have asked for more clarity through trust pilot is funny and I thought I would use the opportunity to say more.I have specifically said IN writing I do not wish to be contacted either by anyone in the company after my case was closed and yet I was contacted by a unhappy agent, I will take further action if this is not honored. Please people be careful out there and do your due diligence to avoid scams in the first place. i think for me I accepted the fact my money is gone and will never be returned again, It has taken me a long time to come to this acceptance though, and the scammers will just laugh behind you. I do feel for anyone who has been victim and its not a nice feeling.I feel for everyone whos been with payback and had similar issues, I do. I hope you find peace in my experience
I paid £2600 up front with a success fee for assistance claiming against a stock trading scam. Payback composed 4 letters over 3 years, but only after I repeatedly chased them. The person responsible for my case changed and there was no communication unless I instigated it. They have now informed me they are dropping my case.I’m extremely disappointed with this service.

Very unreliable and simply not honest. Even opportunities to get in touch with the proper authorities were missed, due to a lack of determination and support. Stay away and keep your money at your own account. You have been cheated, here you get cheated twice. STAY AWAY!!!
