As a regular user of both PickMe and Uber in Sri Lanka, I’ve noticed a significant difference in the transparency and consistency of fare pricing between the two platforms. Uber has consistently provided a reliable and transparent experience, where the fare displayed at the start of the ride is accurate and unchanged even upon arrival. This makes it easy to trust the platform and plan accordingly. However, my experience with PickMe has been less reliable. While the fare shown at the beginning of the booking is generally lower, I’ve frequently found that the final fare is much higher than expected, often leading to frustration and a sense of being misled. This lack of fare consistency and transparency is a major drawback and makes PickMe less trustworthy for riders who value predictability in pricing.Overall, I would recommend Uber for anyone looking for a more consistent and transparent pricing experience. Until PickMe addresses these issues, I find it difficult to fully rely on their service.
Driver overcharged me by double. Pickme were presented resented with evidence and after one months said they would credit my account. Customer support is non-existent. After over two months I still received no credit. They are aware of this and decided not to reply further to my emails. Untrustworthy company that scam customers. Try Uber who at least are accountable.
Thanks for your response about the driver who threatened me in front of my house, when the back seat of its 3 wheeler came off!. I’ve already called, emailed, and lodged complaints through the app—none of it made any real difference. The responses were generic and dismissive, with no urgency or genuine concern. I gave it another try after six months, and the issues remain the same—persistent and unaddressed.1. If you book using a debit or credit card, most drivers either cancel immediately or call to ask if you’ll pay cash. If you say card, they bail. Some say they’re on the way, then cancel later. It’s a frustrating mess. You’re better off using Uber from the airport and during your stay in Sri Lanka.2. Many cars don’t have seatbelts, or they’re broken and unusable.3. The tuk-tuks (three-wheelers) are even worse—loose seats that fall off, and virtually none have seatbelts. Out of thousands I’ve used, I’ve only seen one with seatbelts. In an accident, you're flying off the seat with nothing to hold you in place. It’s incredibly unsafe, and the company shows zero concern for basic safety standards.4. Cancellations are rampant. Drivers accept bookings only to cancel them without reason. If the company actually cared, they’d review the trip logs and penalize repeat offenders—but they don’t.5. Especially with airport pickups, drivers push for cash payments. According to them, the company charges LKR 700 for those trips, which they try to avoid by canceling card bookings. It’s chaotic and unregulated—feels like the wild west.
Please Please be carful. the company increases their chargers without informing you. Do not register your card to them to take what they like. I hire a vehicle for couple of hours and limited kilometres and I was within the limits. But they charged one and a half times. I said that I can sent a screen shot what I booked but ignoring all, they just kept silent. So, remember, DO NOT register your card if you hire on time and kilometre based. Keep a screen shot.
I am extremely disappointed with the poor service provided by the Pick Me customer service team. I booked a ride for one of my relations, using a card for payment, but the rider requested cash. Unaware of the card payment, my relation ended up paying in cash as well. I immediately lodged a complaint, expecting a quick resolution. A customer service representative, a girl, assured me that the issue would be resolved within 24 hours. However, more than 24 hours passed, and I’ve yet to receive any solution. Worse still, the complaint was closed without any update or action. To make matters worse, I received a call from someone named "Thilan" from the customer service department. I’ve never experienced such a terrible attitude from a customer service representative before. His first question was, "What's your problem?" The tone and attitude were completely unprofessional, as if I were asking for a free ride instead of simply resolving a legitimate payment issue. I was left feeling like I was bothering them, and it completely ruined my confidence in using Pick Me’s services again. The lack of proper communication and resolution, combined with poor customer service, is unacceptable. I expect better from any company, especially one that deals with customer-facing services. I won't be using Pick Me again, and I strongly advise others to be cautious when relying on their support."Pick Me" Management, Is this is your so called client service?? Be ashamed of yourself!
Really disappointed about this app I had faced to two incidents today and another day. The driver got more than my bill amount but in my app there was a lower amount than the drivers amount. Today I m uninstalling this app and the drivers are arguing about this and shouting. Please make this clear and check whether the customers bill amounts are tallying to drivers once. Don’t do this to people please.
