Frequent flyer with recognised oneworld status here, and I’m beyond frustrated with Qatar Airways’ complete lack of meaningful engagement on a serious complaint.

On a recent flight in Business Class (Qsuite product), I suffered severe food poisoning from the meal served. The cabin supervisor was involved on board, made a report, and explicitly stated she would not be comfortable serving the same meal again—clear acknowledgment of an issue. This should have prompted immediate and thorough follow-up.

Instead, weeks later, after private DM outreach where they apologised for delays, promised escalation to the “highest level,” and asked to keep communication private, I’ve had weeks and weeks of total silence. Not even a phone call, no update on the investigation results/report, no named contact, nothing beyond the occasional identical scripted message: “Thank you for your patience… forwarded to customer care as part of escalation efforts… prompt update.”

The pattern is exhausting: genuine-sounding apology → flip to generic “thanks for patience” → then radio silence. This is on a premium Business Class product I pay significantly for, where food safety and quick resolution should be non-negotiable. It’s eroding all trust.

I traveled qatar airways and it was genuinely so good it was my first flight and first time on the plane the air hostess were cooperative and kind the plane landing and take off both were very smooth the seats were very clean and tidy will definitely travel again especially the air hostess miriam ahmed she was very kind and comparative and from now on qatarairways will always be my first priority for traveling

4 Economy flights. Seats felt more cramped than most economy domestic flights I have taken - not good on 6 and 12-13 hour flights.

Airline boarding procedures were inefficient and ineffective, with inconsistent instructions resulting in all 4 flights taking off late (2 in Dec 2025, 2 in Feb 2026). This was particularly bad in Doha.

Lost my luggage on one flight (Doha to Frankfurt) and, though eventually found and returned, they ignored every request for information (like whether they had found my bag) made in the mean time. I escalated to corporate in Qatar who instructed the local staff to update me. They didn't. Bag showed up unannounced after more than a week. I had bought new clothes etc in the mean time.

Service in flight was terrible. The one request I made out of normal meal times was ignored. I called for assistance when I need to go to the loo and everyone's meal trays were down with the detritus of a meal > 60 mins before. I received no response in 40 minutes and was eventually relieved before wetting myself when the "normal" cleanup came round. Cabin crew was annoyed by my urgent need to get past the trolley before I wet myself! Good thing I wasn't having a medical emergency ...

I will NEVER use Qatar again!

I have never experienced such a complete lack of professionalism and basic customer care as I did with Qatar Airways on my recent trip from Tenerife to Johannesburg via Madrid and Doha. My checked‑in luggage never moved from one airport to the next, yet the airline never sent a single notification – I only discovered the problem because I had a GPS tracker on the suitcase. I was forced to call Qatar Airways myself, negotiate with Iberia staff in Madrid, send a family member to Tenerife to hand the bag over to ground‑handling, make another call when the bag finally reached Madrid (and was again stuck), and then spend hours messaging Qatar staff and speaking with Johannesburg airport personnel just to get the bag onto the final flight (because, again, it got stuck in Doha).

All of this was done without any proactive assistance, updates or apologies from the carrier. The experience was incredibly stressful, cost me valuable work time, and required me to arrange my own “logistics” at every stop. The same pattern of incompetence is bound to repeat on the return leg, meaning any future travel with Qatar Airways would inevitably involve the same chaos and frustration.

In short, the airline’s service is utterly unreliable, its communication is non‑existent, and its handling of baggage is dangerously inefficient. I would strongly advise anyone reading this to avoid Qatar Airways altogether – there are far better options that respect passengers’ time, luggage and peace of mind.

One of the worst travel experiences I have ever had.
I booked a simple itinerary from London Heathrow to Colombo via Doha with a short one hour transit. Without any prior notice or explanation, Qatar Airways completely changed my itinerary. I only discovered this at the check-in counter at Heathrow no email, no message, nothing.
I was forced to wait over an hour at the counter and had to repeatedly argue with staff just to be placed on a flight the same day. Initially, I was offered flights the following day, which was absolutely unacceptable. After significant insistence, I was re-routed, but instead of one smooth connection, I was given a three leg journey. London–Doha–Dammam–Colombo.
My transit time increased to over four hours, completely different from what I paid for.

To make matters worse, I had paid over £100 for window seats in advance. Despite this, I was assigned random seats in different cabin areas and once again had to argue with staff just to get what I had already paid for.

The experience at Dammam Airport was shockingly poor. The staff demonstrated rude and arrogant behavior, extremely poor customer service, limited English communication, and a complete lack of basic courtesy. No professionalism whatsoever. If Qatar Airways markets itself as a “world class” airline, it needs to seriously invest in staff training and customer service standards because this experience was far from premium.

The final insult was that my last leg was operated by SriLankan Airlines, which was never part of my original booking. I was supposed to arrive in Colombo at 01:55 AM but instead arrived at 06:05 AM causing major inconvenience and exhaustion.

This entire journey was stressful, frustrating, and completely unacceptable. It was not the service I paid for, nor what I expect from an airline that promotes itself as luxury and premium.

Very disappointing. I will think more than twice before ever flying with Qatar Airways again.

Not sure how this is 'the world's best airline'. I fly economy, and just had my 10th Qatar flight. The cabin crew is so uninterested and rude that it makes RyanAir look good. The food is a gamble; on some flights it's great, on some it's an embarrassment.
E.g. on a 7h flight we got served one average meal, and instead of a warm snack, we were given KitKat and chips.
On another 7h flight, no snacks were provided, and the crew did not do a second drinks service - too busy chatting.
Having flown long distances with many different airlines, I do not recommend Qatar in the top 3. Premium price, inflated reputation, for poor service.

QA incompetent staff prevented boarding due to blank page passport rule requiring 2 pages for Africa, however only actually required 1. Ruined our 60th birthday celebration to CPT. Raised issue on 22/11/25 and still waiting for resolve and highly embarrassing for an award winning airline. Will be escalating to His Excellency Office as sure others have had same mistake and bring class action to force an improvement to QA Customer Service

Not recommended for disabled people. They asked multiple documents and made my mum feel stressed just to book an extra legroom seat for free which they charge £120.
She has travelled around the world and this hasn’t happened to her. All Airlines welcomes disable and elderly people with due respect but this isn’t the case here

I flew with Qatar Airways from Dhaka → Doha → Munich on 17 January 2026. My first flight from Dhaka was delayed, and upon arrival in Doha, the staff told me my boarding was DNB, forcing me to take the next flight 7 hours later. They offered me Business Class and Silver Lounge access which were fine.

When I arrived in Munich, my baggage did not arrive. I tried to report it at the airport, but the system did not recognize my booking. Following guidance from Qatar Airways customer care, I filed a complaint through their website.

Since then, there was no meaningful update for over 48 hours. I spent 5–8 hours daily contacting customer care via chat, only to receive the same repeated response:

“We are trying to locate your luggage and send it.”

I also sent more than 20 emails, and the only reply I received was the same generic answer. After four full days of constant messaging and extreme stress, I finally received my baggage.

This situation was especially stressful as I had another international trip one week later, and I needed my belongings. Every agent seemed to copy-paste the same reply, showing no accountability or care.

Additionally, the economy class meals were below standard — both flights served dry bread with a single type of bun and no butter, cream, or marmalade, making it almost inedible.

Overall, this was the worst airline service I have ever experienced. Qatar Airways claims to be a leading airline, but my experience with delayed baggage, unhelpful customer service, and poor meals was extremely disappointing.

I hope this review highlights the need for better customer support and accountability.
