Review Time
19th Feb: Initially I ordered a nightguard - nice and quick customer service via WhatsApp. I wasn’t able to get good impressions the first two times so ordered more putty. Not a problem. On the third try, the company said although the impression was missing the full front two teeth, send it anyway as the impressions undergo an ‘in person inspection’.The retainer arrives and is too small, I can’t get it on my teeth at all. The company asks me to send a video and i do. By this time, i go to a dentist to get a nightguard made because i need a fitting one asap.At this point i see their supposed ‘risk free guarantee’ and tell them I’d like to start this. They ignore this request and simply don’t reply! I send them back the night guard on the 13th March, send them a tracking receipt and they only reply after I chase it up on the 19th. After chasing it up twice more (this is all on our WhatsApp messages), I get a message saying Royal Mail messed up but don’t worry because it’s coming today! (27th March ). Interestingly, the tracking info says it was only sent the day before. But of course, Royal Mail messed up. It arrives, is still incredibly tight and gets stuck on my teeth. At this point, the company says my front teeth are ‘slanted’ (???) so that means it won’t come off easily. After 20 minutes of trying and sending videos to them for them to advise how to remove it, it finally comes off. I tell them I am not happy and I’ve never had a retainer be this difficult to get off. I get a sarcy reply of ‘it’s not a retainer, it’s a nightguard’. Which yes, I know…I’m just a little flustered having been trapped in their product.31st March: I have received a message saying they will refund the original amount minus £40 ‘for the impression kit….the same kit they sell for £10 on their website. All of this is against the consumer rights act. After weeks of dealing with this cowboy company, I just can’t be bothered anymore. 3rd April: HAVING CHASED ONCE MORE, I ask where my refund is, they say they’ve send me an email (they haven’t)4th April: I get a notification from my bank, I am FINALLY been issued a refund (minus the £40) No doubt their reply (if they work out how to reply to customers…) will mention their ‘terms and conditions’ however, as I said…against the Consumer Rights Act. So yeah, 4.4* review on here but you better pray you don’t have problems with it or you will be left on read, lied to, short changed and patronised. Good luck!
Everyone involved was great from the get go. Having been with SmileDirect, I was using my last set of aligners as retainers and they finally snapped so needed a solution quickly. Rang up, got an appointment to make the moulds same day (highly recommend you pay for this service as it was not easy). The dentist taking the moulds and these guys are in the same building so as soon as I got the moulds gave them to be made. 3/4 hours later came back to pick up and everything fit great. Oh and best of all super reasonable price wise. The cheapest I found amongst orthodontists was £150 per arch for the thinner retainers. These guys were 225 total for 2 pairs of the thicker retainers and it’s the exact same Essix material!
Retainer doesn't fit! Despite sending it back, and them trying to tweak the retainer, it never properly fit into my mouth. This is despite it being based on the exact same mould as my old retainer. They were initially approachable, however, after awhile they stopped responding. It also feels weird in your mouth, and is not as good quality as one you would get in the dentist.
This company is FRAUDULENT. I paid for a kit to be sent to me, what was sent was of poor quality and therefore I asked for a refund on this basis ie that the kit wasn’t suitable, plus they weren’t able to honour the 3 day turn around as advertised.I asked for a refund and that Iam happy to return the kit - they have refused multiple times and offered me £40 less than what I paid. This is not only illegal under UK law regardless of their own made up policy, but I’ve also reported this company to trading standards and filed a report.I’ve also been informed that even if I’d gone through with the retainer, that the quality is poor; the plastic orthodontics are thick and not compatible to Invisalign’s thin, strong and comfortable mouth pieces.Save your self time, disrespect and poor customer service and just pay the extra £50 and see your dentist ie a trained professional as this headache wasn’t worth the trouble.Update:After having my solicitor investigate this company, it turns out that they have a history of taking peoples money and violating the law in respect to refunds as part of the consumer rights act.I mentioned this situation to my dentist (when I went to get a real retainer this week) and he confirmed, this companyIs highly discredited in the practice, only solidified further by there refusal to email me back, WhatsApp me back, hiding their google review page and now - sending me back a refund for only a partial amount, still owing me £40 plus my solicitor admin fees.
