Review Time
Having bad credit for years due to some unfortunate circumstances I was finally getting my life back on track. I got the offer for Revel and got the card with a $500 limit. I made all my payments on time for the first six months and they doubled my credit to $1,000 with no questions asked. It felt good to have some financial accountability and a company that didn't hold my past against me. I'm thankful that Revel gave me the chance to prove that I can be responsible and trusted. I've only had to call customer service twice but both times the representatives were very friendly and did everything they could to solve my issues. I have recommended Revel to a couple people and will continue to do so.
They keep saying my card is activated but when I get to the grocery store and try to use it, it’s declined time after time. This is embarrassing so now I just don’t use it and I’m getting ready to cancel it to get rid of the fees.
I had an Oportum Visa card, but they sold me a Revel Mastercard from Bank of Missouri. I made a serious mistake when I accepted their terms and conditions. Now they're charging me a $99 annual fee, for which I don't get any benefits, no points, miles, or anything. That's a scam. And the 36.9% interest rate is an exaggeration! I used to have it at, I think, 29%. I have two Mastercards from Capital One (Savor and Quicksilver) with 23% interest rates. They don't charge an annual fee, and they do offer many benefits. I also have a Visa from Bank of America, and they don't charge an annual fee either, and they give me cash rewards too. I called Revel Mastercard customer service, and they told me, in short, that I accepted the terms and conditions, and in short, that's how they are and how points work. So I decided I'm going to pay the full balance and permanently cancel this headache that is Revel Mastercard! I don't recommend it at all, and my best advice to everyone: Don't accept it! It's the worst credit card ever!
