Excellent Service

When I submitted my application for draw down I was unaware of the tax implications if I went ahead with the amount I required. Thanks to information that was supplied by Katie in regard to the tax amount I would pay, I was able to reconsider my request and cancel, so as not to increase my tax burden. Excellent advice, sent in a timely manner enabling me to reconsider and cancel. Such great service. Highly recommend Royal London to manage my pension.

Experience clean and simple.

The whole experience was very clear and the 'step by step' approach worked as I didn't need to go back in the process once. Very clear and easy to get my request sorted. Had to get a transfer from another pension pot and that was very well communicated and smooth too.

Trying to claim my pension payout

Trying to claim my pension payout, started at the beginning of November, was sent a letter with a form to fill in and send back in a pre addressed envelope, sent back the same day 7 th November 24 , was told on phone once they received it I would get my payout , heard nothing so rang on the 6 th December 24 was told they hadn’t received my form , I don’t believe that as it was a pre addressed envelope, any how asked for another form to be sent out ,told to send back by recorded post £8 later , was told as soon as they received it I would get my payout in 5 working days .Sent back on 9th December 24 , rang up today as still not got payment , told they received it Friday 13 th 24 again another lie , recorded delivery is next day ,told they would chase it up , should get it by the end of this week , won’t hold my breath , absolutely disgusting from a large company like this .All I can think of is they try and keep you money as long as possible to get the interest

Helpful phone staff member rescues confusing situation

I liked the woman I spoke to on the phone - don't know her name sorry. This was after I got a very confusing letter, including the sentence "you've requested a transfer value to be paid to another provider".I hadn't requested that, I had requested transfer of funds into a Flexi Draw Down Plan so I could remove a small amount of the capital for one year only. So the letter was unhelpful and made me panic. I thought my money was being sent to some other provider I didn't know about, and certainly hadn't asked for.The woman on the phone was helpful, reassuring and she said she will ask for the letter to be changed as she could see how it was confusing. She rescued the situation.Please could you review the way you word your letters in these situations?

I lost my son so I had to pay for his funeral.. being a pensioner I had delete certain dd but then I get a letter saying they had terminated my policy after being with them for years..I only took out so my son didn’t have to have the expense of my funeral.

One of my pension funds (£9500) was…

One of my pension funds (£9500) was transferred to RL 15 years agoI was unaware of this until RL contacted me around 15 months ago. The fund had grown by £165 in 15 years! It was placed and kept in a fund which earned less than 0.5pc. Per year? They took their management fees but no one of any competence diversified this planI filled in a form and spoke to one of their advisors three times(I have recordings) and although he could not agree that this was a poor return after consulting with his superiors they had not done anything unlawful I think this is negligible and incompetent at the least and although I cannot contest against RL who probably have a comprehensive legal team I just wanted to share my experience for others to see
