Review Time
The company's handling of my SCOTTeVEST order was 5-star. My only concern is that two sizing models are available for the vest and I didn't know that until my first order didn't fit me well. The company rep told me that the second order should take care of the concerns I experienced with fit on my first vest. If I'd know there was an option I might have judged correctly on my first order. I still find the second vest to be about 1 1/2 inches too long - or, more likely, my hips are just too wide. All of my questions were answered quickly and completely.
I've purchased 3 jackets for myself (I like lots of pockets). However, recently I ordered a small pack jacket directly from Scottevest which did not fit. In the past, I had a revolution jacket in a medium that's big for me & a fleece in small that fits perfectly.Given my history with the sizing of their product, I ordered a small again thinking it would fit. However, when I tried it on, it was VERY tight in the chest & armpit.Since the jacket didn't fit, I tried to arrange for an exchange for a medium. They explained the sizing discrepancy was due to the "athletic cut" of the style and no refunds/exchanges were allowed. In other words, they told me I was a small in one style of jacket, but a medium in another. Does that make any sense?Their sales are entirely Internet based so I trusted the sizing of their products would be consistent, but I was wrong. Since Scottevest wouldn't stand by the quality of their product, I can't recommend them.
