I purchased a wardrobe from the Milton Keynes IKEA Re-shop & Re-use section for £160. It was listed as being in perfect condition with only “transport damage to box.” There was no mention of missing parts.

I made a three-hour round trip to collect it, as it was out of stock everywhere else. I had already sold my previous wardrobe in good faith, trusting that the IKEA one would be complete and ready to assemble.

When I opened it at home, a structural base panel was missing, meaning the wardrobe could not be built. I was then left without a usable wardrobe for nearly a month while trying to resolve the issue.

What followed was weeks of back-and-forth with customer service. I was told there was no way to obtain the missing panel from any store and that my only option was to return the wardrobe — initially by driving it back to Milton Keynes myself.

After pushing back, they agreed to collect it. Ironically, the collection was carried out by the Wednesbury store — just 20 minutes from my house — despite being told repeatedly that stores operate independently and I could not resolve the issue locally.

The most frustrating part? I was informed that once the wardrobe is returned, the store will order the missing panel in to complete the item before reselling it. Yet they would not order that same panel to resolve the issue for me as the original purchaser. That makes absolutely no sense.

A simple missing part turned into nearly four weeks of inconvenience, wasted travel, stress, and being left without a wardrobe. The final outcome was a refund and a £40 voucher.

The issue itself was disappointing, but the rigid, illogical handling of it was far worse.

Absolutely appalled by the delivery experience.
My order was split across three separate delivery drivers ARC and DPD for the other 2, yet somehow still arrived incomplete and damged.
Several items were missing, parts were absent from boxes, and some of the packaging was visibly burst on arrival with vital parts bent on opening.
For a company of IKEA’s scale and reputation, this is simply unacceptable.
The delivery service itself was chaotic taking 4 drivers to complete the order and now I have extra items that require uplifted.
No clear communication, inconsistent text updates, and long periods spent indoors waiting with no indication of when (or if) the drivers would arrive.
I wasted 2 entire days rearranging my schedule only to be left with half a bed and no clear explanation.
To make matters worse, contacting customer services has been incredibly difficult with limited accountability, although IKEA had a sense of urgency in resolving missing parts the script for apology was evidently insincere.
As for the excessive delivery charges paid, I expected a smooth, professional service — not a fragmented, substandard experience.
I expect far better from IKEA. This has been inconvenient, frustrating, and completely avoidable with proper coordination and basic customer communication.

I bought a dishwasher to replace an 8 year old Ikea dishwasher which had broken.
There are design issues with the new dishwasher so I wrote a review (one star) and posted it to the Ikea website.
That was several weeks ago. I have raised this with their online chat only to be told they can't deal with IT "issues". When I log in and try to write a review I am told my review is in the process.

Clearly Ikea are removing poor reviews to avoid them impacting on sales.

Frustrating experience with pick-up service

I spent the entire morning waiting for confirmation that a pick-up had arrived. I even went to the location and stayed for the last hour of the time slot, but when the slot ended, I received a text saying I hadn’t picked up my order, which was then canceled. They never showed up! It was a complete waste of my morning. I won't be using this service again.

A Complete Disappointment with Kitchen Installation

If you care about your well-being, finances, or home, steer clear of kitchens from this location. What began as an exciting renovation has spiraled into a distressing ordeal. Six months have passed while trying to address warranty problems stemming from a poor installation, and the level of neglect is astonishing.
* Unprofessional Contractors: The contractors recommended by the service were utterly disappointing. The quality of work was subpar, and their lack of professionalism was evident. The company relies on the fact that they don’t guarantee these contractors, yet they are the ones who brought them into our home.
* Frustrating Communication: I have made 28 calls and sent 25 emails. I have been left waiting at home for six separate appointments that were never honored.
* Lack of Accountability: This past weekend was the breaking point. After being assured of a delivery and seeing it marked "in transit" on the tracker, no one arrived, and I received no communication.
* Emotional Toll: This situation extends beyond just a kitchen; it has taken a significant mental health toll to be disregarded for half a year while dealing with a faulty product.
This location is eager to take your money but will leave you stranded when issues arise. They have made no attempt to reach out to me in six months without me having to initiate contact. Protect your finances and peace of mind—look elsewhere.

Quality has significantly declined since the pandemic

Since the pandemic, it's clear that the quality has plummeted, yet prices have skyrocketed! I am extremely frustrated and appalled by the service. Switching to cheaper materials to cut costs? Assembly instructions are nearly unreadable! Missing crucial details? I unfortunately had to purchase a wardrobe for my tenant and put it together. It's complete garbage! I can already tell it won't hold up. Three assembly points have already broken while trying to assemble this fragile wardrobe. The management team should be ashamed of themselves for prioritizing profit over quality! I will never buy from them again! And to see such a poor score on review platforms? The management really needs to wake up and realize the state of their products! It's unacceptable! Companies with such poor quality and reputation shouldn't be allowed to operate!

Frustrating experience with incomplete order

I placed an online order for two wardrobes, both standard packages with shelves and doors — nothing customized. However, one door was missing. I received only one door instead of two. To make matters worse, only one door is listed on the invoice, indicating a potential problem with the ordering system. I inquired about ordering the missing door separately and having it delivered for free, since it was part of the original package. I was hoping for a fair solution, but I was informed that this wasn't an option. This is quite disappointing. As a long-time customer in multiple countries, I’m genuinely surprised by how a loyal customer is treated over what seems to be a system error. Being left with an incomplete wardrobe and no reasonable resolution is unacceptable. At this point, I plan to return the wardrobe, as I don't see the point in keeping an incomplete product due to an error beyond my control.

Disappointing experience with delivery and setup.

My experience with the delivery and installation of the kitchen has been quite disappointing. Items were missing from the initial delivery. Almost a month past the promised completion date, the installation remains unfinished, there are unresolved questions, and communication regarding the timeline is lacking. Several large packages are still scattered throughout the home. Despite spending hours talking with the support team, there has been no significant progress.

Disappointing experience with delivery and damaged items

I ordered bookcases for a media wall, but the first delivery was missing nine parcels. Out of the items we received, three were damaged. The company promised to send replacements, but the second delivery was also damaged. A third replacement arrived two days later, and it too was damaged. Ultimately, I had to drive to a store to pick up a replacement. There seems to be a lack of care in packaging and loading items. I would not recommend ordering for delivery if you expect to receive undamaged goods.
