Just to add a bit of balance

Just to add a bit of balance. I've had stores with Shopify for a few years and have never had an issue with them. I've needed to reach out to their support team a few times in the last couple of weeks for some niggling issues and they have always resolved really quickly and with no problem on the customer service front.

Buyers Beware

I am writing this review as a buyer from a shopify store not an owner of one.Be VERY careful when buying from shopify stores if you’ve heard bad things about their customer service, I just went through the trouble of putting in a report for a store that borderline scammed me only to be told at the end that Shopify will not help in any way and that my report will just be put through to the store that scammed me in the first place.Absolutely useless.

Cannot unsubscribe from this annoying company

I have no idea how shopify got hold of my email address and mobile number??? Just got an email from them, went to 'unsubscribe' and there's no link at all to unsubscribe me. I'm really annoyed at how these companies get personal details and then leave no means for you to remove them. I would not under any circumstances have anything to do with this company and will report if they don't answer my email telling them to remove my personal and private details. On the main site they advise to unsubscribe via THEIR APP why not on the main site? Reason? Because there is no link on my account online or in the App to unsubscribe, they send you on a wild goosechase. The ONLY company I've encountered that has no way for customers to unsubscribe. How they're still functioning with the reviews they get here ???

SCAM - PLEASE AVOID!Signed up to the free trial a year ago to see if it could work. Long story short I never started the site, other things took over and I haven't been allowed to cancel the service. They've now taken hundreds of pounds and continue to do so. When you ask to cancel they say sure, just email me the first 8 digits of your cc, the last 8 digits of you cc, your billing address, your cvv, your mother's maiden name, first pets name and 12 months of bank statements.Yeah...Please avoid, 30 quid a month doesn't sound like a lot to lose but if you multiply that by every single month for the rest of your life it definitely adds up. Currently changing banks to get away from them which is a huge inconvenience but the only thing I can do.

I’d avoid. Doesn’t cancel the trial and charges!

I’d avoid! I signed up for a trial, couldn’t get along with it, cancelled my plan and they charged me for 2 more months! Contacted them and there only refunding 1 month because that’s there policy!

Store terminated for no reason - alongside payments, customer data, access to admin.

Store closed down for no reason, repeat case over the past few years. Reason for store closure is most likely due to bias from review teams, and official reason being marked down as 'level of risk'. No linearity of reasoning for store closure - seems to be random. This meant that the payouts were gone, the customer data, admin access etc. Essentially, they took down the store and we have no way of fulfilling the orders, or getting access to the funds because of this repeat phenomenon.

Shopify is okay until you run into an…

Shopify is okay until you run into an inevitable issue, which I have and many others have, logging In problems, I can’t access my store and there is zero help. All my hard work will have to be undone if I can’t get any help. I would not recommend.

AVOID using shopify for domain & website

They do not support you as a customer whatsoever. I had an online shop with them for a couple of years, bought my domain through them (big mistake!) and closed my shop recently due to costs.I've been trying for weeks to get my domain transferred to another provider and they are no help at all.Once you finally get passed the AI chat, they put you in a chat with an advisor but I'm not sure they're actually human either, so many errors and generic sentences and they don't seem to actually READ what I'm saying. I just want to talk to a competent human being!!They say I can do it myself and give me some steps in a screenshot, but I keep trying to tell them there's an issue with transferring a .co.uk extension and I'm constantly given the same error page telling me to contact support. I'm going mad going round and round in circles. At this point, I'm just going to have to wait for my domain to expire in January and hope I can jump on it to purchase through someone else.Utterly ridiculous. I will NEVER use Shopify for my business again.
