If I could put 0 stars I would!! So I am in utter disbelief that this is even allowed!! I’ve just got an email about them setting up a direct debit on my account I CLOSED last year,sure enough there’s a direct debit for stripe in my bank after my notification email from Shopify! that’s fraud!!! I have the email that says my account was CLOSED august 2022 so how have they kept my personal bank details and set up a direct debit WITHOUT my knowledge or consent!! This is the first time I’ve ever had a direct debit set up on my account months after it’s been closed this isn’t legal!! Contacted customer support they just wanted all my info to reactivate and look but at what exactly?! The direct debit there an so is the email of my closed account 11 months ago!! If I could sue I would but u can’t even get a phone number for them!! Keep an eye on your banks!!
It might be useful as a seller (I don't know) but as a customer it is the worst service of it's kind. Postage is extortionately expensive this is due to a couple simple things.It's systems for calculating shipping weight/quantity/box size etc is terrible. If ordering multiple items from a seller using Shopify it calculates the shipment cost considering each item being shipped separately but then ships in a single box ultimately leaving shipping overcharged. At least when Amazon used to do this years ago they automatically reimbursed you the difference in shipping cost when they realised it could be in a single package.The second thing that causes overpriced shipping is the lack of choice of shipping options when you're at a Shopify checkout, you can only use the service of the shipping company that, presumably (it's obviously not based on merit), paid Shopify to be partnered with. In the case of ordering anything from a seller in the US to ship to the UK they always use USPS who's prices are massively inflated compared to other couriers and the delivery time is multiple times longer than any other courier for no reason considering the cost. Not to mention the tracking is terrible, 3 weeks ago a package has left the US, fantastic... Except still hasn't arrived yet and no way of seeing where in the world it could possibly be, or even shipping (as slow boat I assume but who knows).The audacity this company has in advertising using creators on social media! It might make the life of creators (Shopify's customers) selling products a little bit easier to manage inventory, but 80% of people who seeing the adds are the creators customers and have to deal with the mediocrity and incompetence of Shopify they are a joke! Ultimately, I have think multiple times whether I want to support the creator I love if they sell using Shopfy - it is not a good look!
I had my domain stolen and my privately designed layout taken away from my account. Shopify have not helped me get it back they said they have no trace of my invoices when I paid for it in advance. The customer service is poor and seem to go around in circles. This just says to me shopify isn't as secure as they say they are. I had a bogus shopify email that said I had paid $385.00 in full and I never knew anything about it. I did click on it and maybe that was the entry to stealing my whole store?! Beware if I were you, there is another shopify version such as shopwired a UK based company which is just as good as shopify! Plus with a UK company you know where you stand and can get decent customer service at least quality customer service!!
Said they were working with O2 as a third party company and offered a 40% discount on my contract and a free iPad as well. Of course I thought it was a scam but then they delivered to me an iPhone (by mistake) so I thought maybe they were legit. Returned the iPhone and said my order was on its way. It’s been a week now and they keep dodging my calls and hanging up when I want to check my order status. I specifically spoke to someone called ‘Richard’ who was helpful at first but now is the person ending my calls. They took my personal details and bank details too which is obviously my main concern. If you do get a call from them and they identify themselves as Shopify then please hang up and avoid. They have extremely poor customer service and are just trying to get money out of you.
This closed a retro gaming website for "trademark" reason, but in the meantime they are doing the promotion in one of their article of a similar company.Impossible to communicate with Shopify.US Companies do whatever they want, they literally control small business, and you can't do anything against.
Absolute rubbish company. Blocked my account with a company I regularly use. Now I can not place orders or look at my account. Cannot even log into the company. No good reason given and although the company I have been using have tried to get it sorted they get no help from Shopify
