Review Time
The ladies on the phone were very helpful and I couldn't be happier with my frames. I wanted certain Brook Brothers frames and I was little skeptical when I found them on Simply Eyeglasses at 1/2 the price but a couple weeks later I was pleasantly surprised when they showed up at my house!
I found the frames I wanted for about $80 less than any other online place. Price for progressive and transition options about the same as the others, so I came out ahead using SimplyEyeglasses. I spoke with a friendly and helpful person, and was completely happy with my purchase!
Oh, and they had a brown option for the transitions!
My experience with SimplyEyeglasses.com was great. The ordering process was straightforward. The product delivery was timely.
I was VERY apprehensive about this process as it is the first time I have ordered prescription glasses this way but it turned out to be a good decision! I got exactly what I wanted for a great price.
I bought the exact same designer frames with progressive lenses and all the bells and whistles for half the price of the local optical shops. SimplyEteglasses was user friendly online and over the phone. It did take a while to get my glasses, three-plus weeks, but they were worth the wait. Very pleased and satisfied!
I wanted a pair of lightweight, flex titanium frames with Drivewear lenses at a good price. Very few online eyeglass vendors sell Drivewear, so I chose SimplyEyeglasses for that reason. I love my new glasses and the price was much cheaper than my local eye doctor would charge.
Here's the issues you need to be aware of, and if you are comfortable with this you can get great glasses on the cheap:
1. The photos on the website may not match what you are actually ordering. You need to make sure you verify the part number with the frame manufacturer's website that the photo is correct. If not, you could be in for a surprise. Forewarned is forearmed.
2. Longer time to deliver - once you order, SE goes out and then buys your frame. So the order to fulfillment cycle is slower. You have time from frame mfg to SE, SE then making your lenses (you can't start making lenses until you have the frame, then time from SE to you. This is about 3 weeks time. Here's the rub - in my case, the frame I ordered wasn't available, but I didn't know this until after I placed my order. So I lost another week in back and forths with SE in order to get a different frame ordered. SE is probably not the only online retailer doing this, but good to know.
3. Not a lot of feedback once you place your order. The website doesn't update you on the status of your order. Given the 3 week lead time, this can make you feel like your order is in a "black hole".
I'd still probably order from them again as they have a great price relative to other sites, just be prepared to wait a bit.
I am so pleased with my glasses! The customer service that I received was fantastic. The lenses that I selected would not work with my prescription, so I got a call from SimplyEyeglasses about the problem that I would have had the eyeglasses been made. I was able to get the correct type of lenses put in and received them about 8 days later. I have had to have minor adjustments like tightening the "arms" because they were loose, but other than that NO PROBLEMS. Have recommended SimplyEyeglasses to family and friends. Will order again from them.
