Buyer Beware!!

I inadvertently paid our annual subscription to Site5 and almost immediately realized it was for a domain that has not been in use for several years. First thing I discovered is that they do not have any customer support phone number. It looks like there’s an email option available but when you try to use it, it just steers you back to the first screen. I was forced to exchange with them via Chat. Within 10 minutes of accidentally paying the invoice, I explained it to someone on chat that we no longer have that domain and that I need to cancel our account and get a refund. I was told that they could not offer us a refund, only a credit on our account. I explained again that we are canceling our account because we no longer use the domain so what use would the credit be? It was useless. I reopened chat conversations two more times with different agents, explained the situation again, and was met with the exact response. I told them any reputable company would offer a refund or at least a prorate which in my case would be a full refund since I had only paid the invoice 10 minutes prior. The insisted I needed to give them 48 hours notice to cancel our subscription and that they would not give us a refund. When I submitted the cancellation request, I got a response that said our account would be closed one year from now. It’s utterly ridiculous, unreasonable, and unfair. We are paying $175 for nothing. Only because I made a mistake. They are essentially cheating people out of greed and nothing more. They are very difficult to communicate with, and very disreputable with their greedy policy. Buyer Beware!

Solved my problem quickly

Nitesh got everything squared away for me in a hurry. Fast, knowledgable service and got my site up and running again from backup. For some reason, something went wrong with my CC on file and my hosting plan was terminated (unknown to me) since they couldn't charge the card. Didn't figure out what happened, but I paid the invoice and attached a new CC to the account so hopefully this won't happen in the future. 🤞🏼
