I rented a vehicle from a service at Tromsø Airport and unfortunately had a very negative experience after returning the car. After the rental period, the company contacted me claiming there was "new damage" to the right front rim and mentioned they might charge the deductible. The issues are: • The vehicle’s rims already had several marks/damage at pickup. • The rental agreement/damage protocol already indicates a marked point (dot) in the same area where they are now alleging new damage. • When I returned the vehicle, there was no staff present from the company, and no joint return inspection/check-in was conducted with me. • The photos provided were not clear enough to demonstrate that this damage occurred during my rental rather than before pickup or after return. Given there was no return inspection at the time of return, it is unreasonable to hold the customer responsible for damage identified later. I paid using a credit card and will be disputing any attempted charge through my card provider. My advice to anyone renting here: purchase full insurance coverage to avoid false claims against you. Based on this experience, I will not rent with this service again.

Excellent customer service – the staff was very helpful and friendly. The whole rental process was smooth and straightforward, and there were no problems at all. A very pleasant experience overall. I would definitely use this car rental service again.
Despite their Nazi supremacist background, having thrived through both world wars in germany by war profiteering, they'll sure do anything for that extra dollar, including scamming you. It's not even a superior scam, It's the dumbest scam you could possibily imagine.In my case, they just pumped up the price of my rental 3x after i swiped my card, and they deleted my name from their systems. They made up a new name and told me that's why I couldn't get a refund or an explanation. although the payment was in my name.I got my money back easily through my bank, but this kind of behavior just rubs me the wrong way, so i thought I'd share.I assumed it was just the employees trying to make a few extra bucks based in the scams low iq nature, but no. After working my way up the customer service chain of command, I discovered protecting these scam tactics is standard procedure. It's a multimillion dollar campany basically trying to pick-pocket you while you watch.After checking out their history, it's amazing they haven't been shut down by now. Embezzlement, Price fixing, War profiteering, blackmail.Likely because they always have family members in high ranking political positions throughout the german government. So if you for some reason have to use Sixt car rental, fight back every time they try to scam you (there will be a lot of attempts), because you will always win. Somehow they're still not good at it.
Car was significantly damaged in a number of areas and never repaired previously. Cruise control did not work. Be sure to take pics and vids of *every* part of the car. I received notice from them that I was now responsible for a one inch line cosmetic abrasion on the passenger mirror - and they are attempting to charge me $400 for the repair and being 'out of service'. "Damage' on their own contract is 'a scratch through the paint down to the metal - This is a injection molded black plastic and a clear coat scratch only. Be aware that some facilities will use 'damage' as a means of extra income, by charging exorbitant repair costs and then not actually repairing the vehicle, as this location is attempting to do.
