Review Time
If I could give it 0 stars I would because 1 is overly generous, they’ve made a mistake on my application thinking i live with my mother and her partner when i explicitly said in my hardship form i’m living alone and am in worse position than i was to begin with , i then go to ring them and am told on an automated message the lines are too busy , maybe this wouldn’t be the case if they got it right the first time and didn’t make so many mistakes.

So i sent all the papper work in for them to pay the uni 11 mouths ago i then redid all this 5 mouths ago and now its coming to my second year i cant go back because thay still havent payed the uni iv been calling and have spent probs the bast part of 6h in tole on hold thay dont no what there doing are how to fix it thay said thay lost the first lot of paper work even thow i put in on the websit with help of my uni and student finance on phone helping thow it now my 3rd attempt wont be sorted in time to go on to my next year iv allready sined the student home stuff and if i dont get in uni i got no were to leve for the year and still got to pay the 5k to 6k thay have destroyed my mental heath all because thay cant do the job thay are payed to do i allready lost my home and all my stuff because someone stole my identity and took loans in my name iv had to deal with my grand mouth with cancer and so much more and i was so happy to finaly get a roof over my head agen but looks like i be living in my car now so thank you for messing my life up more and pushing me to the point i just want to end it i cant cope with it no more iv lost everything and when iv tryed to fix it you scrowed me for 11 mouths i dont no if i will have a home this coming monday are food

Received numerous letters dated days apart giving conflicting details. Hours wasted trying to get thru to advisors who are unsure of what to do / put me on hold and never return to the call. Just a really frustrating experience and obviously done on the cheap - this will often be young adults' first experience of a government agency and its appalling.

I now live abroad but promised to pay off the student loans of all 3 sons if they emigrated as well. I pay by debit card every month which has been pretty smooth (that is why there are 2 stars!). However, all letters are sent by surface mail and take approximately 6 weeks to arrive here. Before they arrive we have had emails / messages complaining that the forms have not been completed. I know there is a correspondence link on the account but not all letters seem to be there. One son had only 100 pounds to pay yet a letter arrived stating that, because he had not completed his earnings form, he would have to pay 264 pounds per month. Work that one out!I understand there are two different offices / buildings / centres for SLC but it really does seem that there is a breakdown in communication between the two. I spoke to a lovely lady this morning in order to pay off a loan in full - this has to be done over the phone in case they miss out of a few pence interest. As I stated, she was lovely but she had no idea how long communication takes to arrive.As an add-on:All my offspring took out some of the initial loans. They were supposed to be amazing - they are not. Two of the family have not been employed since covid but I still pay every month or it will never be paid off as the interest keep building. The interest is really quite something.

See on the website that I need to phone up to get my final balance to pay off in full. 30 mins on hold, given balance and paid off. Turns out I have over paid by £19 and money has still been taken out of my pay check for this month. Can this easily be sorted out? Of course not, I now have to waste my time sorting this out. Will I get interest on my stolen money?
