Review Time
Customer service is abysmal so is the company. Was on hold for 40 minutes to find out why they were demanding personal information from me after I notified them I was leaving the country. Had no explanation aside from "that's what we ask for". Pathetic, and probably illegal.
Ok, SLC finally got in touch on the 23rd Nov finally, they have managed to agree that the call 'could have been handled better', but it wasn't the point, the Student Finance agent seemed to deliberately put me on hold a third time which lasted so long, that I had to eventually hang up. My point here, that this is appalling behaviour from them. I hope the their call centre staff are to receive diciplinary measures, as this is unacceptable.
I am in my third year of a 4 year undergrad degree. Every year I have to fight for funding that I am entitled to. The service is always appalling and cold, unhelpful and rude, and they say it takes up to 6 weeks, well I applied in June, I’m still waiting and have been contacting them every other day for an update. I shouldn’t have to fight for funding I am entitled to, will be paying back and when I’m more than half way through my studies. 6 weeks, no, it’s been 15 weeks now. They have sent my mental health on a downward spiral and I’m so fed up of it. They make you lose motivation for your studies when they make it this hard and keep changing the parameters. I am going to be making a formal complaint very soon.
Incompetent morons smacking their keyboards with a stick. Either that or monkeys on typewriters.Every single time I have had to interact with SFE, they have somehow cocked up my loan one way or another. Sometimes they mess up my information multiple times in a single academic year.I can’t understand how a single company can be so unfathomably incompetent at every level. It’s actually insane that SFE have managed to screw up this much to the point where I’m telling employees what information to add over the phone when they have it right there in the paperwork I’ve sent them.It would be easier to foster life on Jupiter than it’d be to get SFE to do their job with a modicum of competence.
Just re-iterating the experience of many on here . My daughter , who is abroad , has never earned anywhere near the threshold to pay back any of her student loan since leaving Uni 3 years ago . Yet she is bombarded with letters saying her debt and interest thereof is 'racking up' . Now over £3000 in 'debt' but as stated NEVER earned enough per year to have had to pay back anything. Despite providing all the info. they ask for , it's ignored and we get yet another pro forma letter saying they need more info . She is in the middle of the Australian bush...how the heck is she supposed to sort it if they won't listen to what she has told them ?! An absolute joke of a government dept !!!
I wouldn't even give them 1 star...Most of their staff are untrained, don't know what they do, promising, misleading, the other part of the team are rude, heartless, careless!I thought it's just me, who's being ignored and lied to.I am absolutely stressed out by this company, I have provided the evidence what needed to stop taking payments more than 4 months ago, they are still taking and bot giving my money back... Opened a complaint, they are not even bothered to respond, just keep extending, saying it's their peak period. They don't care how you feel, taking your hard earned money, the more you earn, the more they take, and when you log in online, after each payment, the remaining balance is even higher than before... Bunch of liars, thieves and careless individuals....
I write this on behalf of my son, who has been messed around with different info every time he calls to try and sort his loan out, it's beyond a joke, is this a company who enjoys stressing young students out?Chris Lamer... Yes you, the Cheif Executive officer of this government organisation, Get off your fat lazy a.. , do something for your most probable exstrorniste salary and sort this company out... Have you seen the reviews of this company you oversee??.. Its a disgrace
Please anyone out there help me out with SLC , they are absolutely heartless and dreadful to our young people who decided to go to university, how on earth are my children been awarded £1400 after proving endless evidence they ask repeatedly.In my own opinion this company is a targeting young people to put them on stress and mental health issues and they end up in suicide. My first year university daughter called me this morning crying, my heart broke , how does even an 18year old kid survive on £1400 for three months +£ 2000 rent , someone out there please help me I feel like my daughter is not gonna manage and I can’t deal with SLC , I believe they do these things intentionally and they target low class families and poor families with poor income. I find them shady and dangerous. I’m planning to write to my MP and BBC to report this in case something happens to my children it will be on them.SLC should be stopped and we need a lawyer who can defend us as families who are the victims of SLC , our children are fading into poverty and starvation they can’t work because their lectures are not matching with their time of work, please anyone out there help me out. Thank you😭😭😭😭😭
