Ordered the Ipswich 1988/89 Centenary home shirt from this company and am taken aback by the amazing quality. Sizing is as described and the fit is tidy. The original shirt is nearly impossible to find and to be able to get a brand new repro equal to, if not better, than the original is incredible. Excellent value for money and superb customer service. Looking forward to doing more business with SM Retro.
I have ordered 3 man utd 1978 centenary shirts, the first 2 the home and third(blue shirt) were excellent, i waited for the away shirt to come in stock in my size, i ordered and was firstly sent the wrong size to their credit they were great with organising a replacement for the size i had ordered eventually today i have received it and have to say its awful simply the worst retro shit i have ever bought the 3 black stripes down the left side of the shirt were miles off the correct size they should have been the 3 black stripes were only 1 1/2 inches wide when they should be a minimum of 3 inches wide it makes the shirt look like it was knocked up by someone at home and at the price its simply awful my advice is avoid this shirt like i said its the worst retro ive had the misfortune to buy and due to this i will not be buying anything off this site again, money wasted
This website is a wonderful showcase of the best shirts from yesteryear. I received my shirt a few weeks after ordering and was absolutely delighted with the quality. The fit is perfect, the fabric is very comfortable, and the stitching & embroidery is pristine. Fine workmanship and made to last. I have ordered retro shirts from other companies that I won't mention but they haven't come anywhere near to the standard of the shirt from SM retro. I'll be ordering another shirt soon. Highly recommended.
As a long-time football shirt collector, SM Retro is by far the best company I have dealt with. The shirts are produced to a very high standard, often improving on the originals, and the attention to detail is very impressive. International delivery time may irk some, but this is not the fault of the company, they go to extremes to get these products to you and aren't given anywhere near enough credit. As other reviewers have stated, you will not find better retro shirts elsewhere. SM Retro is an outstanding business that comes very highly recommended.
I just wanted to share my experience dealing with SM Retro (formerly DP Retro). I was caught up in the delays due to issues the company had earlier this year, like many others seem to have been. These things can happen unfortunately but this certainly did not detract from the products that i have received from the company. I absolutely love the football shirts that i have received and will enjoy wearing them. The only things i would share to possibly help you if you choose to buy your fantastic retro football shirt from here, is PLEASE be patient. It may feel like that there is no update on the delivery details BUT THEY DO update in time. Please be patient. Also if you are looking to be in possession of your shirt by a certain date, please order well in advance (7 weeks or so would be advisable) as you wont get your shirt in a week or something like that. If you remain patient you will receive a wonderful retro shirt that you will be happy with. I love mine and will be looking to purchase more from SM Retro. There was nothing good about this sale.The quality of the shirt is poor and the sizing is way out. I ordered an XXL Chelsea retro shirt, which is more like a L.Delivery took absolutely ages and when trying to get a shipping update from customer services, they were very vague, if I was actually lucky enough to get a reply.I would advise anyone who is contemplating buying on this website, to go elsewhere. I would never buy anything on here ever again!
The ordering process was quick and easy. Once I received tracking information the parcel arrived within a few weeks. I was struck by how close the shirt is to the original. It is made of very nice quality fabric and the fit is perfect. A few of my friends have admired the shirt so I'm very pleased. I've no hesitation in recommending SM Retro.
Thought I would give an update on my order. My shirt has finally arrived after nearly six months of waiting so great news! However the not so great news is that the fit is very strange, very tight under my arms and very loose over my shoulder blades, not as good quality as the shirts I received pre covid for sure but hey maybe I should have ordered a bigger size. What does concern me (apart from the length of time to get the shirt and the quality) is the attempts made by SMretro to get my original review taken down. They reported me to trustpilot for making a derogatory review (which trustpilot thankfully rejected) and then claimed that I had never ordered anything from them (quickly disproved by sending Trustpilot copies of the email correspondence from the firm apologising for the delay in completing the order). This was after they asked me to take down my review which I refused as it was an accurate reflection of my experience which is what Trustpilot is here for after all.Any company which tries to suppress negative reviews in my view is suspect but I will leave that to you to decide.I suspect that the only reason I even got my shirt was that I posted the review in the first place and highlighted the issue, it certainly prompted Les to get in contact quickly.I have no axe to grind with the company, hopefully they have now got their act together and are fulfilling orders within a reasonable time, other reviews seem to suggest this but personally I won't be ordering from them again any time soon.
Wonderful experience with this company and the quality of the shirt is superb. I've bought retro shirts from a few different sources and the SM Retro shirt is by far the best. The fabric is comfortable, the stitching and embroidery is tidy and the fit is great. I've worn the shirt a couple of times and also washed it as per instructions on their website. It still looks as good as new. Delivery takes a while but this is understandable and is clearly explained on the website. The staff are thoroughly decent to deal with and genuinely care about this business. With such a wide variety of teams on offer there should be something for everyone.I look forward to ordering more.Highly recommended. In fact, the best in the business.
