Review Time
After having both cataracts removed and my sight was perfect I found that I just needed a pair of non prescription tinted glasses to which I explained it was just to take the glint of sun and bright lights off my eyes untill they get used to the light on picking up my glasses I couldn’t understand why it was not clear untill I asked if there was a prescription lense in them when looking at the paper that come with she said yes they have a distance lense in them which I have no need of ,so after coming back off holiday the night before and then in a traffic queue for 45mins trying to get to pick up my glasses that morning I was not best pleased and couldn’t understand why you had put a distance lense in as I made it clear when ordering them I only needed a yellow tint on plain glass.
The company are very accommodating, whether you’re there on time or early they encourage you to have a browse and try some specs on while you wait.I had a lovely man help me choose the best style for my face shape, gave honest opinions and suggestions. The staff are all overall very friendly and I can’t fault the actual eye test process itself, super easy, very fast and easy to understand. Joe, the optician was wonderful. Said I could pick up my new glasses in a weeks time and they were absolutely right! Very quick and painless process over all.
Today visited the Cramlington store. On my previous visit I would have been pushed to award 2 stars. The atmosphere and staff attention was awful. Herded around like sheep, no real interest from floor staff (except to sell you the dearest specs and lenses they could).I had seriously considered moving from this branch but now so pleased I gave it another go.Much nicer atmosphere, staff friendly and helpful. The Optician lovely and helpful explaining everything clearly and answering my questions with patience. I had fully intended purchasing my actual specs elsewhere after my money grabbing experience last time, but they had a brilliant special offer on! The icing on the cake was the lovely Molly, who helped me choose my frames with real interest. She was so patient and understanding of my needs and affordability. I left the shop a lot lighter of step (& wallet) than previously!Thank you lovely Molly. You are an absolute credit to your store and yourself.
This is an UPDATE ON MY EXPERIENCE with Xxxxxxxxxx Golden Island AthloneWHAT A JOKE !!!!I still haven’t been sorted out regarding my last Two Pairs of Glasses now remember this is going on since November 2023Sorry I haven’t KEPT EVERYONE UP TO DATE on what’s going OnThat’s a LONG STORY soon will be a YEARI ALSO BROKE MY WREST DUE TO IMPROPER LINSES IN MY GLASSES and was OUT OF ACTION FOR TWO MONTHS( they were the second pair that went missing for 3 months)I have Phoned the shop to talk to one of the Directors who works there Hundreds of Times also to get my Hearing Tested I’ve been told I will get back to you / I will pass on your request / will text you asap / I could GO ON and ONBROKE MY WREST DUE TO IMPROPER LINSES IN MY GLASSES and was OUT OF ACTION FOR TWO MONTHS( they were the second pair that went missing for months)I have Phoned the shop to talk to one of the Directors who works there Hundreds of Times also to get my Hearing Tested I’ve been told I will get back to you / I will pass on your request / will text you asap / I could GO ON and ONI WILL TELL YOU THE OUTCOME OF MY MEETING IF I EVER GET ONE AND HOW THEY WILL
