Aghi at Sale Everlast gym has been…

Aghi at Sale Everlast gym has been amazing. My son has struggled for years in group classes. He has had 4 months with Aghi and he can swim! We are amazed by the transformation! He is so patient and calm and has built a great relationship with him. He also uses visuals to plan the lesson with him which has helped to now what the lesson will entail.Very happy

Good instructor - utterly inept management and customer service

Originally enquired for 1 to 1 lessons for my autistic daughter who has struggled in normal swimming lessons and works better with a 1 to 1 focus.Alistair who I spoke with originally after enquiring was brilliant and gave loads of information, booking in the first taster session and sending over brochures.I then told my daughter as she doesn't respond well to surprise events. At 10pm the night before, I was dropped into a WhatsApp group for the centre in question by the instructor, seeing replies from other customers expressing their continued frustration at lessons being inconsistent at the centre, and couldn't see the message from the instructor as I was added after it. One of the other customers had to copy and paste it for me as the instructor himself wasn't answering (Luke). Apparently there were ongoing issues and the pool was frequently unavailable, none of which was told to me during the booking process, so my lesson was cancelled at 14 hours notice. Two days later I get a call a call from them asking how the taster session went and I told them it hadn't happened and I didn't really want to rebook it yet if there were continued issues with the pool and I'd revisit this when they could tell me the pool was consistently available again. The following Saturday, I get a call from a mobile number and answer to be greeted with "hi, are you bothering to turn up for this swimming lesson or what?" from Luke, the instructor. No one told me this had been booked and I'd specifically asked for it not to be so. I explained this to him, after which he sends me a WhatsApp to apologise for the confusion, with a WhatsApp picture of him wearing a lime green mankini on a ski slope - just the kind of character you want doing 1 to 1 tuition with your 7 year old daughter. Whilst I appreciate SwimNow are probably making him use his personal mobile for organising this (which I disagree with and they should provide him a work number), if you're going to do so, present yourself professionally and SwimNow should be policing this if they're advertising as appropriate for children and those with SEN difficulties. I'm again contacted by their customer service team to ask how the lesson I neither booked nor attended went.Disgruntled with the whole experience in October, I didn't revisit this until February despite having paid for a lesson that didn't happen. When I did, I arranged this lesson for 1:30PM on a Saturday as I was working in the morning, arranged the Tuesday prior.I'm then contacted 3 times in the 4 days between the booking and the lesson to ask to move this as the instructor doesn't want a gap in his schedule that leaves him waiting around for me. Boo hoo. Your employer is charging £80 an hour for your services and has been utterly useless thus far. I'm working in the morning and not leaving myself short of income by cancelling work so that you can have an easier day whilst I pay 3 times my wage rate for your services. Finally I get to the lesson, and the instructor (Josh this time, not Luke, and thankfully not clad in a mankini) was actually a really good instructor, so much so that I think I'll give SwimNow a FOURTH chance to get things right. After contacting me nearly immediately after the 2 lessons that didn't happen, they make no effort to reach me after the one that did. I even try to reach out to them to give them my money, and can only get through to a voicemail, ultimately not leaving me able to reach them in time to pay for the lesson id arranged with Josh for the following Saturday, meaning it couldn't take place.I'm done at this point, and have found a competitor who offers the first month of lessons for £10, and the ongoing lessons at half the price of SwimNow, and has fixed things into a weekly achievable timeslot.Hilariously, SwimNow have now reached out to me three times this week (it's only wednesday) to try to get my business back. They won't get it. Don't touch them with a barge pole.

It’s sad for me to give this a 1 star…

It’s sad for me to give this a 1 star as the swimming instructor is brilliant and the swimming environment is very calm and great as well….my reason for this not working was because whenever I joined this the advert said available Monday to Sunday which got me excited as I had been looking for a flexible schedule for some time now. I have a 4 day on 4 day off pattern which means this was a good deal. But after signing up things immediately changed to just Monday to Thursday and only one hour from 6 for adults which means it’s so hard to find lessons on top of the fact that some days I’m on shift the Monday to Thursday so made this impossible. My lessons were so scattered and for that reason there wasn’t any consistency so sorry to say but this is the only time I’ve had a service given to me and felt like it was an irresponsible expenditure and time. I do feel like if the company has the flexibility to change hours whenever they can which wasn’t even communicated officially, the customer has the right to terminate the contract as well which sadly I wasn’t allowed to as much as I wasn’t benefiting from this program. So it’s a no for me.

Absolutely fantastic

Absolutely fantastic. Our daughters have learnt more in 3 months than they did in over 2 years at their old swimming class. Liam, their instructor in Blackburn, has been amazing from day one and has made them into competent swimmers in such a short time.

It's never too late!

A brilliant experience from start to finish: making contact, somebody calling me back to arrange a suitable time and location, taster session etc. I could already move through the water - definitely not swim -and my amazing instructor has been extraordinary - teaching me skills I probably should have learnt as a child, improving my technique, giving me more confidence. I have started to really enjoy swimming. I'll definitely be signing up for more sessions. I'm 62 years old so it goes to show it is never too late!

Rude member of staff at the venue

Instructor ( Deb ) at East Mids is fantastic and has helped our son come on leaps and bounds in the 3 months id give her 5 stars. The issue and sole reason for cancellation was particular member of staff at the venue, very arrogant and out right rude, complained to the Hilton but as the health vendor is separate entity didn’t really go anywhere likewise with Swim Now reading the Ts and Cs Following In the event of instructions not being obeyed, or any type of poor behaviour, including but not limited to, abuse of staff, damage to venue fixtures, bad language or intimidation, Swim Now reserves the right to cancel lessons with immediate effect and terminate any contract with the associated person(s). In the event of a contract termination for any of the points raised above, Swim Now will cancel all future bookings and refund any lessons on account. The intimidation was by venue staff in this case, our son missed two lessons (£100) as direct result of this quite serious altercation. The lack of action by Swim Now is the reason for 1 star I didn’t find the resolution of asking another family member to take our sons place acceptable. Your Ts and Cs don’t seem to protect consumers rights.

We had a lovely instructor called Elahi she was brilliant

We had a lovely instructor called Elahi, both my boys have additional needs & she was fantastic with them both. She was very patient & my boys loved learning with her. I would recommend swim now as its structured & not to busy which was perfect for my two sons who struggle in group settings.

When my autistic son first started…

When my autistic son first started swimming lessons with Tash one on one, he was truly frightened to even get in the water. Every session felt like a challenge, with anxiety and hesitation marking those early days. The gentle approach and patient encouragement from his instructors helped him slowly build trust and comfort, step by step.Over time, my son’s fear began to melt away. The lessons were thoughtfully structured, allowing him to acclimatize at his own pace. Simple water games and lots of reassurance enabled him to dip his toes, then gradually immerse himself—each new skill celebrated and reinforced with positivity. Now, the transformation is remarkable. He swims confidently and with joy, moving through the water with skill and ease. It’s hard to believe that the same child who was so afraid now looks forward to each lesson and can swim independently. The experience has greatly boosted his self-esteem and encouraged a love for staying active.Seeing my son’s progress has highlighted how valuable swimming lessons can be, not just for learning a crucial life skill, but for personal growth and building resilience. The supportive environment made a world of difference, and the pride he feels in conquering his fears is something he’ll carry with him beyond the pool.

£200 charge for a lackluster service.

£200 charge for a teacher that didn't explain anything regarding how to actually swim, just taking me back and forth on floaties for 30 minutes per session. so not worth it,Switched to a leisure centre charging £40 monthly, and i've progressed so much more in 3 weeks than the 4 months i spent at swimnow. what a rip off. seriously an embarrasing service.
