On Monday, we took our daughter’s car in for an oil change at the Rock Hill, SC Take 5 Oil Change and paid $91 (including tip). The next morning, my husband started the car and oil immediately spilled all over our driveway. He quickly realized the oil filter had been left loose. Thankfully, he caught it in time, replaced two quarts of oil, and cleaned up the mess. Had our 16-year-old daughter driven the car, the outcome could have been much worse.
I called the shop and spoke with the manager on duty, who was polite and apologetic. I simply requested a refund. He took my information and said a check would be mailed, and asked my husband to follow up with the store manager the next day.
When my husband called on Wednesday, the store manager claimed the previous employee “misspoke” and said refunds couldn’t be issued without inspecting the car. When asked if he truly expected us to drive a car empty of oil to him, he suggested he could have come to us—implying we should have left our car undriven and without for a day over a $91 refund. My husband requested a call from the area manager, but two hours later, no one has followed up.
I just called back and spoke to the same manager-on-duty as before since the store manager has left for the day. I asked for the area manager’s phone number, and he would not give it to me.
At this point an employee royally screwed up on Monday, another employee “misspoke” on Tuesday, and on Wednesday I still have a stained driveway, no refund and what could have been a severely damaged Toyota Highlander—avoided only because my husband caught their mistake in time.
If I could leave a minus Star Review I would.Decided to try Take 5 today.I thought it was a simple oil change and now I'm worried about anything and everything they may have touched. I spent an hour and 18 mins there and it is the first time I have texted my mechanic, DURING the oil change, asking him if they should be removing parts from my truck and then asked him to come check my truck AFTER an oil change. I dread to know how many pounds of torque are on that plug and how many bolts they stripped on my skid plate. 3 people went under my truck. One to change the oil, one to fix/correct the first guy, and then the last guy to do "checks"?As time ticked away, many other workers looking at the first guy under my truck and trying to avoid eye contact with me. Not one time did a manager come to explain what was happening nor the guy who did a great job taking my payment.I get that all vehicles are different, I get that people are new, I get problems happening, however, not only was it a LONG process, one that I don't trust, but they also left a mess on my truck. Had to get my truck washed after using Take 5 from fluids on the side and hand prints on my hood.As I was sitting there I told myself, I need to learn how to change my own oil. 8955 Hickory St, Frisco, TX locationPictures available on this location website reviews.

My name is Ray and I came in for an oil change at the Poinciana fl location at 4:28pm on 3-22-26 (A start Sunday), and was turned away by a service member and the manager saying they had to clean up the shop so I could not get an oil change even though I was there before closing and THE BRAND MONTRA IS 10-minute Oil changes. I have a BMW so the maintenance is very important to maintain. There were twoCars being serviced at that time and they have 3 bays. There were 4 total employees (I was told there were 3 by the manager) but one was on break which was a red flag because as a manager you should not allow breaks within the first hour or the LAST HOUR of a shift because they are the most important hours of a work day. The manage did not seem completely competent and very condescending, he believed be cause he was smiling that he was being professional but that was not the case. Rule one of profitable business is not to turn away business! I wonder how much money he has cost the business but turning customers away because he was ready to go home. While I was there he turned two additional cars away as well. This was a horrible experience and very disappointing. Again, my car needs to be serviced in a timely manner and I always had a good experience at this location all be it with a different manager. Now I have to look for another trusted company to help me keep my vehicle safe and operational. FYI if the employees don’t want to work the entire shift on Sunday maybe Take 5 should not open that day and have their customers waste time driving to the location just to get turned away.
Paid $244 for oil change which usually costs $99, Told them vehicle had 32,000 miles, he immediately tried to sell coolant flush, which he said is recommended at 40,000 miles?? We know they're too high, but she was planning on pulling trailer next day, and it needed to be changed. It's exhausting to have to listen to all the reasons they say you need extra crap, say "no" and they offer it cheaper. They obviously get points for extra unnecessary sales, which is so unethical. These young workers are being taught to swindle people, and try really hard with females, which is so sad.So I wanted to call & talk to the young man, like his mom should have, but you cannot get through. A robot asks what you want, yells, "I can't hear you!" Then gives you survey on the call center!! I tried "5" times, but didn't "take". Tried corporate number too, same result. I'd rather speak to a person to explain, but maybe they'll read this, and hopefully others will NOT send their wives/daughters there. This was Bryan, TX on Texas Ave
I called 5 times for a price quote on my car during business hours. Every time went to voice mail. 4 times left a voice mail with no return call. Punta Gorda location 941 787 2466. Update, after this post, Take 5 left me a message to call and this will "be made right". I called them-corporate? at 504 837 0670 on 2-23-26 at 11 am and was on hold for 7 mins. Then called again at 11:20 and was on hold for 10 mins.(they claim an oil change takes 5 mins lol) I hung up. They wont be allowed to waste my time again. Good job Take 5. Zero customer service.
They over charged me and when I complained threatened to call the police .they stood in front of my car so I could not leave..manager would not give me his name... Did not top of my fluids or ck my tires....I am a 70 years old and 95 lbs...this is how we treat our senior citizens?
Was on vacation and needed oil change, took my car in for oil change at take 5 in summerfield Florida. Employees very friendly.Drove my car a total of approximately 1000 miles after oil change back to Ohio. 2days after I returned home saw some oil on garage floor under my car. Took car to shop where I was told that oil filter had come loose and about a quart of oil leaked out. I called take 5 to tell them what happened. Lady that answered the phone apologized and said they would probably refund my money for the oil change and she would have someone call me. DM called me, showed no real concern for what happened. Told him it cost me $ 10.63 to get filter tightened up and added oil. He says ok and hangs up phone. No offer to reimburse me or anything. Called take 5 HQ told them about conversation with DM and they said they would have someone contact me. Week has gone by and no one has contacted me. Asking for reimbursement of $10.63 I thought was only fair being that if oil filter came off at anytime during my trip I would have been stranded somewhere between Florida and Ohio.
