I took out a trail subscription as I thought there could be intelligent journalism to be had. How utterly disappointing it turned out to be. With exceptions, the standard of writing is extremely poor, inconsiderate and biased to the extreme. I would liken each article to a freshly laid turd over which the flies swarm in on the comments. Each day, a different variety of topics, are repeated, all with the same comments. The agenda is clear and simple and profoundly nauseating. The backlash to this tabloid rag will come, but only when people realise that Reform will not work in Britain. The lies needed to sell this vision will come back to them. The disaster of Brexit will be repeated again and these boys writing will understand one day. If AI doesn't take their jobs. It could do no worse.

Stay clear of The Telegraph

Apparently i signed up for a subscription, which I didn't ! They started taking money which I've stopped and never logged into the paper. refusing to refund the first charge and I really don't care about the amount it's the principle that I didn't do this. I'll investigate with Apple, but just rubbish service and attitude

If I could give a zero for the…

If I could give a zero for the subscription service I would. I had an offer and the subscription said I could cancel whenever I wanted. Well that means if I go onto their website investigate how I can cancel and finally see that I have to ring a number. I am no 12 in queue. When I finally get to speak to someone they ask me they argue with me about how often I read it. When making it very clear I have no intention of renewing (mainly because their lack of support for people with disabilities and not researching the facts and also of the problem with cancelling it) they said they have to go through all the questions. I said whatever you say I want to cancel. I had to stay on the line for ten mins in total before I could leave and my blood pressure was worse for wear. Thanks Telegraph - never again will I pay you to read your words.** additional. Telegraph reached out to me to Investigate this complaint and came back to me to say that it hadn’t been handled well. Although I have not renewed a subscription I have to give credit to a company that investigates and hold their hands up.

Exemplary Customer Service

My experience of The Telegraph digital subscription customer service on only a few occasions necessary over the last ten years or so has been genuinely exemplary. My most recent contact on 9/2/26 and a shout out to Noralie and David for their understanding, patience and great help in mutually resolving a renewal issue resulting from operating subscriptions under two different email accounts, at no fault of the Telegraph. The UK based staff are always polite, listen carefully, professional and have a friendly manner in mutually resolving issues. Just a piece of advice. If you are taking advantage of an introductory discounted subscription offer, once the account is activated, immediately turn off the subscription auto-renewal which is a default setting. However you can do this at anytime up to the renewal date. I have several digital media subscriptions and most operate this way. Also look out for the advance email notifying of the renewal date and new subscription charge. Obviously if you don’t accept that, just simply cancel on your account before the renewal due date to avoid any possible increase and auto-charging disputes down the line. Highly recommended, Unsolicited review. N. Robinson. February 2026.

I’ve been trying to cancel supposed free trial for weeks

I foolishly took out an online trial and cancelled it well within the cancellation period. To my surprise, I was still charged £14.99 per month and this charge is ongoing. They inform me that I had a parallel direct subscription with them, whereas the cancelled subscription was apparently taken out via Apple. I took out only one subscription, and as far as I am concerned, I cancelled it correctly. They also say that they will not resolve these matters by email, forcing me to spend unnecessary time on this matter. Trading standards, if they still exist, should be looking into these shady practices. This is the reference: TS4010295. They have refused to refund the payment that I say was incorrectly taken after I had cancelled my trial.

Awful I was auto subscribed with no notifications or email and telegraph started taking from my account. I challenged it, bank refunded and said it wouldn’t happen again but it did so phoned the telegraph call centre who tried to offer a cheaper deal for something I didn’t want in the first place. I had reported it as fraud and had to suspend by card.

If I could give zero stars I would

If I could give zero stars I would. Got an email to say annual subscription was increasing from £29 to £199!Had to ring customer service to cancel my digital subscription. In 2026 how does Telegraph not have it set up for online cancellation.I told the customer service rep repeatedly that I wanted to cancel and was not interested in any offers just process the cancellation. He then told me I was eligible for £39.99 renewal. I said I still wasn't interested please continue with the cancellation. He then argued with me about why I wasn't renewing. If I'd had any doubts about cancelling he made them disappear.
