Bought a 2021 Model 3 Long Range direct from Tesla thinking that the car would be in top condition considering the car comes with a 12 month warranty.
I really don't think Tesla checked the car thoroughly before putting it up for sale.
The first giveaway was that the screenwash level was low, and that there was water instead of coolant. On the way home from Tesla, Birmingham a creaking sound appeared which I was unable to pinpoint. When we arrived home my wife had to use the manual release to open the door.
I booked the car into Tesla Chelmsford to have these issues rectified. As they said they wanted the car overnight, I asked for a loan car, only to be told no.
I rearranged the appointment so I could get the car back on the same day. They resolved the creaking sound. It was a suspension arm issue. They did not have the part for the door release mechanism, and I was also told that the charge port needed to be changed. Another visit required. All in all a very bad experience for what is supposed to be a certified approved used car. Their words, not mine.
I am very tempted to hand the car back.
1, I have had my car since new which was 2021 and its a great car. Recently i am having issues with the car and have had to book the car in but the day before no loan car so it had to be cancelled. I have now booked this in for 20 days time so will have to put up with the current issue.
2, I have had a vibration for a while and thought the wheels needed balancing, i have done this twice plus the tracking only to be told ALL the wheels are buckled! i have had nothing but issues with the Pirelli tyres now all my wheels need replacing. Neither the tyres or the wheels are fit for purpose.
3, I need to set my charger up but seem to find it impossible to update the software and despite messaging i cannot speak to a human being.
This whole experience is making me to just sell the car and move on

03/11/2025 booked in after 15k miles the rear tyres completely bald, no tread at all on the outer side, while inner/middle had tread.
Booked in Tesla MK for change of rear tyres and alignment also to check for faults on why the rear tyres are wearing out on the outer side.
Got told “everything is spot on”
Tyres x2 + Alignment
Charged £1130.06
06/11/2025 few days later I noticed the small amount of wear a dark patch on the outer side of rear tyres. Contacted Tesla provided photos got told they don’t look to be wearing but bring it in to us.
07/11/2025 took the model S in to Tesla and the Technicians looked at the car and also checked the Alignment and got told everything looks perfect.
7k miles later my rear tyres completely bald on the outer side.
12/02/2026 booked the Tesla in Again and insisted that there is a problem on the rear tyres or alignment and to look for any faults.
Turns out there was a problem all along Rear Toe Links.
Tyres x2 + Alignment + Rear Toe Links
Charged £1733.78
Collected my Model S at the end of the day got home 50miles from MK Service Centre and noticed a alignment print out (which I never knew you could get and never received a printouts on previous alignments) noticed front drivers side wheel in the RED for camber on the printout.
Not knowing what it all means I questioned this on the Tesla app to the technician who completed the work.
I was told due to after market camber they were unable to get it perfect, so expect a small wear on front inner side. I never had much wear on front tyres and haven’t had a problem with front tyres it’s always been the rears.
Now the rear tyres have been resolved after being conned out of thousands now I’m about to get conned out of front tyres and camber arms.
Next day I took it to 2x different alignment workshops only to show them the printout and was told different from what Tesla MK told me.
I also pointed out about the tyres and how many times I had got them changed from Tesla and all the alignments and i never got print outs on previous alignments.
Both workshops questioned this on why the issue was not picked up on the first Alignment or even on the second Alignment and without printouts.
Obviously there was an issue and a main dealer to neglect customers concerns and the cost is just ridiculous.
After saying all this to the Technician on the app chat I was offered a “FREE ALIGNMENT when I get the 3rd party front cambers changed to Tesla part”.
My response I have lost trust in you after spending £4619.63 and now you want me to dig deeper in to my pockets.
Message from Technician I’ve passed all the chat messages to the management.
Total spend £4619.63 awaiting for management’s response and also trying to find loose change from back of my sofa to get scammed again from a company that I thought were great and trustworthy.
$4,500 for a climate system replacement in <4 year old Model 3. Immediately upon repair, a new noise and severe vibration is occurring intermittently and frequently in the climate system compressor. Tesla claims it's me. First and only Tesla for me. I can't get out of this one fast enough.
The entire bumper assembly detached from my vehicle during the heavy rains on December 24, and I didn't even notice it happening. It was simply gone. This model has a known issue with similar incidents occurring in heavy rain or when driving through puddles. The company acknowledged this defect in 2020 and settled a lawsuit regarding the same problem in 2024, yet they claim it has been repaired. Clearly, that’s not the case. Now, they are informing me, 'We cannot cover the repair under warranty because it was caused by external factors,' referring to the water.
I’ll keep it straightforward. The policy states that if you purchase tires and have them installed by the service, they will waive the fee for your full subscription during the next billing cycle. However, they charged my card and denied a refund despite acknowledging that I met all the requirements. They did not adhere to their own policy. As a result, I can no longer trust the service and will be canceling my subscription. I cannot recommend them anymore.
More than two months ago, my Powerwall 2 was discharged remotely without any prior notice. Upon noticing this, I reached out to the support team and was informed that the unit was defective and would be replaced with a newer model under warranty, with a promise of contact within two weeks to arrange the swap. After numerous follow-ups, I received a formal recall notice stating that the replacement would take 4–6 weeks. After more inquiries, I opted for a refund instead. The company approved it quickly and mentioned it was sent to Finance for processing. Now, over three weeks later, they still cannot provide a substantial update on when the refund will be issued or when the faulty unit will be removed. For a service as forward-thinking as this, they should allocate some of that innovation and their ample resources towards improving customer service, financial procedures, and timely refunds.
I reserved a vehicle for a lease, and my initial delivery date was set for November 2021. However, it faced multiple delays, moving from December to January, then to February, and now to April. In contrast, another vehicle I ordered from a different dealership was ready on time. The manufacturing of a vehicle should take weeks, not months. I understand demand can cause delays, but this has been excessive. The delivery timeline should be more predictable.
