Extremely disappointing service.

Extremely disappointing service. I’ve used this transportation option multiple times, and delays appear to be a common issue. Buses arrive and depart late, with no communication or apologies, showing little regard for passengers waiting outdoors in unpleasant conditions. On this occasion, I arrived right at the scheduled departure time and signaled to the driver, but the bus left without me. I understand that timing is partly my responsibility, but it’s difficult to take strict rule enforcement seriously from a service that frequently fails to adhere to its own timetable. The major concern was regarding luggage. I paid for two pieces, as usual. One was a box containing personal items. I’ve traveled with this setup before without any issues. However, this time, the driver abruptly labeled the box as a “parcel” and charged me an additional $45. Their website mentions a $45 fee for shipping parcels. This wasn’t being shipped—I was on the bus with it. There’s no option to declare or pay for a “parcel” during booking, and nothing clearly indicates that a box is treated differently than a suitcase. If the same items were packed in a suitcase, there wouldn’t have been a problem, making the rule seem inconsistent and poorly communicated. I paid the fee just to avoid missing my trip after being directed to go to their office. With frequent delays, ambiguous policies, and inconsistent enforcement, this service lacks reliability. I wouldn’t recommend it, and I sincerely hope the company makes significant improvements in how it treats its paying customers.

Very disappointing experience.

Very disappointing experience.I’ve used The Canada Bus a few times now, and delays seem to be the norm. Buses arrive and leave late with no communication, no apology, and no consideration for passengers waiting outside in bad weather. On this trip, I arrived right at the scheduled departure time and signaled the driver, but the bus drove off anyway. I accept that cutting it close is on me—but it’s hard to take strict rule enforcement seriously from a company that regularly doesn’t follow its own schedule. The bigger issue was luggage. I paid for two pieces of luggage, as I always do. One of them was a carton box with personal items. I’ve brought the same setup on this route before without any problems. This time, the driver suddenly said the box was a “parcel” and charged me an extra $45.Their site mentions a $45 fee for parcels for shipping. This wasn’t being shipped—I was on the bus with it. There’s also no way to declare or pay for a “parcel” when booking, and nothing clearly stating that a box counts differently than a suitcase. If the exact same items were in a suitcase, there wouldn’t have been an issue, which makes the rule feel inconsistent and poorly explained.I paid the fee just to avoid missing my trip after being told to go to their office.Between frequent delays, unclear policies, and inconsistent enforcement, this service isn’t reliable. I wouldn’t recommend it, and I hope the company seriously improves how it treats paying customers..

Of I could give a zero I would

Of I could give a zero I would, on the 24th of December waited at millwoods Town center for the bis to calgary, bus was over an hour late, when it finally showed up, the heating system wasn't working, after waiting in that new year's weather. The driver had no decency to atleast Apologize for the delays, or to atleast notify passengers that heating isn't working. My first time and DEFINITELY LAST time to use theor services. Definitely will aslo make sure I spread the word to as many people as possible through my highly followed social media platform. This company doesn't deserve to render services to Canadians

Bus never showed up!

Waited for >1.5 hours at the bus stop for the bus to never show up. Granted, there was a lot of snow that came down. But to not notify your passengers that you are not coming is outrageous. It was impossible to get through to the company as well. I tried calling multiple times and it only went through to voicemail. They never responded to my email, a message I left via their chatbot, or to a DM on Instagram. Now, they’ve informed me that a refund isn’t possible. They will only offer me an open bus ticket that can only be used within a month. Even if I lived in Canada (which I do not!), why would I ever want to book through this shoddy company again?Don’t do it! Rider Express and EBus are so, so, so much better.

Worst bus service

Worst bus service. I waited with other passengers for the bus at Edmonton downtown for 2 hours for a bus going to Calgary and it did not come. We tried calling the bus help line several times and noone picked up the phone. We left several messages and sent several emails but noone responded. Ultimately, after waiting for 2 hours in bitter cold & freezing weather, most of us went to another bus office and booked a new ticket to get to Calgary. Canada bus is the worst bus service and I will not recommend you booking it unless you are prepared for a worst experience.

Horrible trip-poor punctuality, improper services

The bus was over 25 minutes late when it arrived, with only 10 people on it. There were two bus drivers, neither of which helped with bags. Then, on the way back, the bus drivers yelled out that it was the last stop, before we had reached the stop we selected on our tickets. We let the drivers know this and they said “oh no that stop only happens in the 9am bus”. Which is odd considering that’s the stop we picked when paying and that was on our tickets! The bus was more dirty than usual, the bathroom door was broken and unusable and the drivers were honesty rude when helping us on and checking tickets and getting us off the bus.

Trash Company

Absolutely the worst bus company to be operating! My brother and cousin took this bus and the driver clearly did not do the safety checks properly as the emergency door swung open and my brother and cousin had to grab it. They notified the driver to which they told them to switch seats and refused to pull over to check it out. My brother and cousin chose not to move because they knew if they did the door would swing back open and hit the truck in the next lane, so they held the door for an hour and 15 minutes. The driver didnt even go back to check the door after using the bathroom to which my brother and cousin then went outside and closed the door themselves. After they told me what happened I called and sent an email. I received a call from Sari D and she starts off the phone call with "well why didnt they call us? They should've called us" are you serious?! Zero accountability, zero concern for passengers well-beings. Clearly they dont care about endangering their passengers while traveling from Point A to Point B. Absolutely awful, PLEASE AVOID!

Mediocre company with hostile drivers that lost the only reason I'd ever choose them

Canada bus was never a remarkable company, but then again, what Alberta bus company is? All the services advertised are there to check things off a checkbox, whether they work or not. Wifi? Roll the dice, usually not working. Food and refreshments? When the company was new, the driver would mention it and show us where to obtain them; now they hide it away and don't bother to make any mention of it. Washroom? Standard terrible quality. Legroom? Hah, what room? They used to be amongst the cheapest, but now there are several fighting for that same position. Being late? Ok, they are a bit worse than the other companies, but it is also standard with them. I have also seen them leave 5 minutes early, once, which may go a long way to explain some of the other reviews. What turned my opinion sour on this company, however, was the ill temper, unprofessional attitude, and lack of good communication skills the driver had when he confronted me and asserted that the only reason I ever chose this company over the others was a mistake. On their website and ticket, they claim to accept baggage of up to '152 linear centimeters'. Those of you who travel more will probably immediately identify my mistake, because it turns out it is some bullshit measurement. It is a useless number, which I had previously understood as 'baggage up to 152cm long', and which passed their drivers every time before now. It does not mean that. Their competitors, by contrast, are far more honest about the exact dimensions of the baggage they accept. Ok, fair enough... if the driver had explained this to me upfront, and provided a method by which I may scan my credit card or otherwise pay the company for this baggage problem. Instead, he yelled at me, asserted that he had no time for this, all but wanted me to leave instead of taking the bus ride that I already paid for, and suggested I etransfer him *personally* or otherwise hand him cold, hard cash, instead of their head office. He also explained *none* of the details above - I personally called their office whilst on the bus, and upon obtaining their denial I had to look up the bullshit that is 'linear centimeters' myself. Out of the many times I took Canadabus, this is the first time I discovered that their linear centimeters measurement is bullshit. What really annoyed me was that I had to find this out with my own investigations, the driver threatened to steal my baggage from me outright, and the driver displayed a consistently hostile attitude despite my consistent efforts to understand his position and get it resolved (e.g. by paying their head office or via a verified payment system). If I were to discover that they were using a bullshit measurement in a cordial and professional way, I would have merely lost the reason to ever choose Canadabus over any other Alberta bus company for my travel purposes. With the driver's beligerant and unprofessional attitude? This earns this review. I hope everyone else will be less foolish than I was. I will perhaps continue to ride Canada bus when it is dirt cheap, although riderexpress is taking that crown from them right now.
