After 9 months of agonizing nerve pain down my leg due to 2 bulged discs, and after 9 months of money towards physical therapy, massages, infrared belts, massage guns, acupuncture and rolfing, I signed up for the 3-month Rehabfix program. This was what I needed to heal - daily exercises with instruction and accountability that I could do from home. It took the healing into my own means vs relying on gear and services to "fix" it for me. I had great success and returned to daily function without surgery. I'm SO happy to have my life back!!
I am not easily "influenced" by social media and I have never "signed on" for any sort of paid program until I started RehabFix twelve weeks ago. I viewed Grant's posts for at least a year before I began to even slightly consider it. Now I wish I hadn't waited so long. After more than two years of doctors, MRIs, CT scans, more doctors, prescription strength pain killers and long intervals of in-person PT (with an excellent physical therapist), I was still headed in the wrong direction. I had been an athletic and active person but chronic pain in my low back, glute, hip and leg had chipped away at all of my exercise routines. I would have gladly gone into surgery if there were some promise of pain relief with a return to an active life.As I slowly let go of pilates, weight training, long outdoor walks, fitness classes, skiing, water park rides with my child, tubing on the bay in the summer, sitting on the floor with my young students... I felt defeated. As soon as I stopped a cycle of physical therapy (which always helped in the moment), my symptoms would creep right back. I couldn't sustain improvements. However, any post I read or any video I watched from RehabFix always made a positive impression and brought me moments of relief. Grant's mental message encouraged me, but more to the point, every exercise he demonstrated made me feel better if/when I took the time to try it. I decided to pursue an initial assessment with one of his colleagues at the beginning of the summer, had a good experience with that conversation, but still hesitated to make the financial commitment.By the time the summer was coming to an end, I was so discouraged by another two months of pain when traveling and limited ability to do basic household tasks, let alone exercise enough to grow strong again. So I signed up and Coach Alec began mentoring me in tandem with each weekly set of exercises.Yes, there is a general framework that is recognizable in the weekly progression of movements. In-person physical therapy follows guidelines as well. However, Coach Alec was responsive to my messages and made adjustments each week based on what felt right and what I needed to do differently. My colleagues are amazed to see how well I am moving again and they are now asking me how I made such progress. They recall that until 3 months ago, I would suddenly drop to my knees in pain due to just a slight movement, or as a result of trying to stand up after being seated for awhile. I was known for laying on the floor during faculty meetings or standing at the back of the room. Today I told them that I am beginning to do squats again, for the first time in a very long time. The ultimate evidence of lasting change is the way my body has held up during intense periods of stress -- events that would normally send me into a flare-up only lead to temporary discomfort. And the best part is that I now know what to do to alleviate any signs of returning pain. RehabFix has empowered me to keep myself in a better state of mobility and daily functioning.I have been fighting a seasonal respiratory infection with a vicious cough that has kept me up at night for more than three weeks. Usually, after just one or two nights propped up on pillows, I would end up with spasms in my back and pain shooting down my leg. After almost a month of disrupted sleep and a lousy position for my spine while sleeping, I AM STILL OKAY. Until I began RehabFix, one strong sneeze was excruciating. Thank goodness I had built a new foundation with all of the targeted and wisely designed movements before this virus got me. I'm entering the holiday season with a nasty cough that won't leave, but I can still bend and move quite normally. Now I look forward to more vigorous exercise finally becoming a regular part of my life again. At age 51, I feel more comfortable and able and optimistic than I did at age 48. This is thanks to Grant and Alec and the team at RehabFix. I am proud of myself for making the investment in and commitment to all that is offered by their program.
After weeks of feeling dismissed by my own GP I did my own research on disc herniation and came across RehabFix on Instagram. I followed alot of the exercises and advice on the page and that input helped me become more confident in my back movements and encouraged me to move more. I now exercise and stretch everyday...I even lift weights now after not being able to carry my own handbag due to my back pain. Thank you RehabFix!
I've been on the program for three weeks and the pain in my right leg is almost gone. It's important to acknowledge that this is not magic; it requires effort and consistency to follow the stretches and exercises they assign you each week, which is definitely worth it. I used to do random stretches, and they clearly taught me the right order of stretches I needed to do. As for my concern, the knowledge of guiding you in the right direction instead of just doing random exercises and addressing the real cause of the problem is worth it. I recommend it 100%.
I had been going to chiropractors for nearly 25 years due to two very serious auto accidents with severe back and sciatic nerve pain that would land me in the emergency room 1-2 times per year. A friend referred me to Dr. Grant, and after speaking with him for only a short while, what he was saying made sense, especially since I hadn't gotten any relief through the course of any standardized care. I feel these doctors want to keep you coming in for more adjustments, and oh, here are some pain meds for when it gets really bad... I thought about what I must have spent over the years to temporarily treat or mask my back pain symptoms and all MRIs and surgery consults, etc., and only experiencing short-term relief. I started on Dr. Grant's program and started getting relief pretty quickly. Let me say that I was very committed to getting and staying out of pain. I followed the program nearly to the "T" and had fewer and fewer flare-ups as I continued. Now, a year after going through the program, I remain pain-free and have even started doing deadlifts again in the gym (315 lbs and getting stronger). Dr. Grant genuinely wanted to help me get and stay out of pain. I wish anyone reading this the same success!!
Simply the best! The most knowledgeable, kind, personable, and understanding staff. I had struggled with back pain for years before competing this program. I've been backpain free since completing the program. I'm so thankful for Dr. Grant Elliot and his staff at RehabFix!
