Great show, very funny, hilarious presentation. The cast were brilliant, but occasionally dropped their voices which made it a bit hard to hear, and near the end of the show they did a "bit" with the audience that they could have left out as they were running around 40 minutes late by that stage and the crowd was obviously a bit restless due to the intensely uncomfortable heat and humidity in the venue. The Opera as a venue is not great and really needs a complete air conditioning overhaul.
The lead up to Billy Idol was a pleasant Sunday afternoon. Stellar* in particular lived up to their name and expectations. Fantastic music, wonderful vocals and every bit Stellar*.Billy Idol came out to a great start, but after leaving stage a few times, while we entertained ourselves, or Steve Steven's kept the crowd going, we wondered what was happening. He missed some if his best, while played a couple of songs that were pretty average compared to his heyday hits. The hits we heard were good, even if his voice didn't have the sharpness it used to, and at least we experienced a White Wedding, followed by an abrupt walk off after just over an hour. Dont bother.
Trying to get tickets during a ‘special’....site demands I change my password before being allowed to purchase, delaying my purchase. Then the site won’t let me buy two tickets if it means one ticket is left solo so I have to get worse seats as a result. So i chose worse seats, then the site kept saying it was redirecting me to payment but did not progress to the payment stage. I rang for a human to get the tickets for me but that meant I couldn’t get the special. So I Cancelled out of all browsers, started again, this time the site worked and went through to payment but it was not the ‘special price’ as advertised ie. ‘all tickets’ were at the special price. Gave up... really, we’ve had online commerce for over 25 years and for the ‘service charge’ prices on each ticket, Ticketmaster should be doing better. Or rename the site to ‘ticketaverage’
Great event and line up of artists! Always a good vibe and mix of people at Fat Freddy's drop.Very organised with food & drinks, nice to be able to take camp chairs & picnic blankets to relax.Water stations & St Johns bringing around sunblock was the best especially on the hot day we had.
