I bought the lumos single for my son's 18th birthday. it came really quickly, well packed but no plastic.
The pen is really easy to set up and use, he likes that he can change the nibs and ink so we later also ordered spare reservoirs and containers for these. I really liked that these consumable parts of the pen are inexpensive to replace as the pen itself felt like an investment. Overall really pleased and would recommend.
Amazing pens and inks and refills etc and wonderful customer service and super fast delivery.Cannot recommend Tom’s studio highly enough and all the items they sell are a dream for a lover of writing and drawing and pens and inks and everything between! Thank you.
Great pens! I have a wren that I use for daily writing like notes and journalling and a Lumo mini I use for artwork. The lumo mini is really small and easy to pop in my small plein air bag, but not so small that it's uncomfortable to use. I even got my business name engraved on it, which I really like. 😊 The wren is also nice and small, but the cap extends it, so it doesn't feel like a compact pen when you're using it. Great, classic writing pen. The tip wears down a bit if you press hard when you write, but tips are cheap and easy to replace!
The Wren from Tom's Studio is that rare find - something completely new that is very, very good. Capped it is small enough to stow in a pocket (or on a keychain, in the case of its little buddy the Field Mouse). Uncapped it is comfortable to write with. The genius is how it works. Ink held in a plastic reservoir filled with cotton wool is drawn by capillary action to a Japanese nib. Reservoirs and nibs are so inexpensive you can dedicate a pair to each color you use, which makes changing inks a breeze. No more flushing out old ink. Customer service is fast and efficient (even from Poole to Southern California) and emailed questions receive a quick and helpful response. So what's not to like? Buy one (or several).

This is simply the very best supplier of unique, beautifully designed writing implements. Tom is so clever, talented, and creative at developing all the products available to enhance your writing skills. I have become addicted to using their pens and inks. Everything I write is now crafted with exactly the right nib for my handwriting. It has elevated even the most basic notes and shopping lists to something that looks like art.

Hand-crafting creative tools you'll look forward to using every day and treasure for the rest of your life. The idea for Tom's business came from watching his wife Gemma use a plastic mass-produced calligraphy pen which he felt didn't match the quality of her beautiful work. With his background in furniture and product design which he studied at university and his experience of working in a blacksmith's forge, he decided to make her a better pen that she would love using every day.See more
