Ordered a mechanical pencil which was faulty on receipt. Contacted customer services by email, took them 2 days and 2 emails to respond they then advised watching a video to fix myself or return for repair. Not acceptable to have to return £65 new item for repair and I requested a replacement. Again poor response from customer services, 2 emails, 2 days and 40 minutes on ‘virtual messenger’ before I got an answer. Pencil eventually replaced.Item acceptable though not sure whether value for money.Customer service very poor.
I've received the lumos mini and for me personally it's not my go to. I'm having issues loading up the ink, even though the bottle is 1/2 empty and the nib/tip I am trying to use does not work (no ink flow) again I did see the ink come out the top. I took it apart, washed it and still nothing. I don't want to use the other nibs/tips because I can afford to waste them and the ink.
Honestly, the writing experience and the quality of the ink are the best things about Tom's Studio products. I purchased the Wren, Lumos and Field Mouse for myself, and the Wren as a present for a friend. Let me tell you, as a scribbler, I couldn't be more enthralled at the loveliness of the writing experience. What surprised me the most, on top of all of that, is the quality and care that went into crafting these pens. The compact design means I can carry them anywhere, the colors (I went with metallic green and pink) are vivid and smooth, and the finish of the design is just top-notch. The inks (I got Neptune and Expresso) are so rich and nuanced, excellent for both calligraphy and everyday writing. The various nibs and tips offer a varied range of strokes, and the reservoir & tip containers are super useful when you want to change ink color without the reservoirs drying up.
I have made several purchases from Tom's Studio: Various pens, inks, calligraphy pens and nibs, ensembles/sets, booklets. The quality of their products sets the bar at the highest standard. Every single thing that has arrived opens like a gift to oneself. The richness in color and sheen on my double tipped Lumos pen is so gorgeous. Though this pen alone serves all of my needs in a pen, I just want more colors. That is the only downside in loving them. Coin. haha but so worth it. Lastly, they give you a complimentary Choccy Bickie Tea as a treat. If you should receive this in your package, do not toss it. It is delicious. Note to Tom's Studio, I wish the tea bag wasn't made of plastic. Otherwise I would purchase this tea in it's own right. If you sell loose tea in tins, I'm in. Thank you for putting such care into your amazing pens and accessories.
I love pens and my Wren pen is fantastic.I love everything about it and will be buying other pens as gifts for family and friends. The choice of pens and coloured inks make for a very personal gift. I am delighted with my purchase. Thank you

Hand-crafting creative tools you'll look forward to using every day and treasure for the rest of your life. The idea for Tom's business came from watching his wife Gemma use a plastic mass-produced calligraphy pen which he felt didn't match the quality of her beautiful work. With his background in furniture and product design which he studied at university and his experience of working in a blacksmith's forge, he decided to make her a better pen that she would love using every day.See more
