They let me open an account with zero issues. I was not flagged for anything i signed up and they let me deposit. They then took my first deposit for $3000. I ended up winning $3000, so i wanted to withdraw my 6000$. But they refused to pay me the winnings. Only sent me my deposit back. They said because i had "another account" but i explained to them a million times i had never made an account with them before and that they needed to show me proof of account and that "first account" verification but they wouldnt. they didnt have my identity documents because it wasnt me. In their terms and conditions it says they "may" refuse winnings. So they didnt have to refuse my money. I gambled that money and won fair and square. If id lost that deposit, i wouldnt have got my money back. Even if somebody made another account how do they let them sign up, what a terrible system they must have. Theyll take your money no problem but if you win then dont expect anything back. They should have paid me what they owed me. Totally not right at all, i made account, they let me deposit and i took all the risk. They refuse to pay me 3000$ which isnt even alot of money to them but its alot for me. Ill scream from the rooftops to everyone to never play at this site.
The withdrawal/verification process is a nightmare...It never ceases to amaze me how easy some online sportsbooks/casinos will take your money, but when you ask for a payout, they have to initiate some impossible process. ToonieBet is registered with iGaming in Ontario, and I understand that they have KYC/AML stuff they need to do, but without a doubt, their process is intended to frustrate winners.I had an account with them for about a week. Won some money, and suddenly found myself unable to bet parlays. I could only bet on single tickets. My wagers were also significantly limited. So I decided to withdraw. When you sign up with ToonieBet, they seem to perform some ID verification behind the scenes, because you do get a message saying that your identity has been verified, and if you click on Account -> Verification, it says that nothing is needed from you. However, when you decide to withdraw, they initiate some new verification process, and it's a nightmare.I've completed verifications on several other sportsbooks in the past, and most are pretty straightforward. ToonieBet starts out by asking for 6 months of bank records, utility bills, images of your debit/credit card, images of your drivers licence, and a selfie. That's a lot, but it doesn't end there. Once you submit the documents, and have even checked to make sure they were good quality, clear, showed all edges of the cards, etc, you find out that nothing is how they wanted it. The bank records need to have your name on them (even if your bank doesn't produce things that way), the utility bill isn't recent enough (even if it's recent), the debit/credit card didn't cover the middle 6 digits properly, the selfie needs to have you holding your ID and the ToonieBet website must be visible in the background. So you contact them, and ask how to address these issues, and they suggest you can include a void cheque that shows your bank account number with your name, resubmit the utility bill as is, suggestions on the selfie. You again send everything in, in a good faith attempt to get things right. But they come back with a new list of issues. They now need a bank statement for specific dates (that don't line up with a month end) showing the deposits to the book, the images of your drivers licence are no longer acceptable because you modified the file type so that the file sizes were small enough to be uploaded to the website (5MB total limit per upload). The website isn't clear enough in your selfie (they require you to take a selfie, so you've got one hand holding your phone, another holding your ID, as you hunch over next to your computer with the ToonieBet website open, and expect everything to be focused well... it's not an easy task). You complain to them about how ridiculous the process is, and how none of the big players like FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM, etc require any of this, but they assure you it's all standard. They slowly start running out of things to ask of you, and start approving documents, but not before throwing in a few more curveballs, like needing you to now upload your drivers licence into some app, and take a selfie with the app.If you persist, you will finally get through the process. But even after that, it still took another ~4 days before they sent me my money.I really wish that sportsbooks/casinos would require customers to complete verification before they can DEPOSIT. I imagine the process would magically become much simpler then. But nope, it's no questions asked when they're taking your money. God forbid someone hits on a few bets though. Gotta kick that guy off the site and make it a total hassle for him to withdraw.I'm sure they will reply to this saying that their verification is required per their iGaming licence. That's not it. There is absolutely no need for the verification process to be this difficult. No one else makes it this difficult. It's 100% designed to discourage people from taking money out. If I only had $100 in my account, I guarantee I would've walked away from that headache. So it probably works often enough that they get to keep some winnings they should otherwise be paying out.
