Review Time
This is not a conventional restaurant review. After leaving the Robbie Williams concert at the Brixton Academy on Sunday my wife Karina had a bad fall on a dodgy paving slab directly outside the Turtle Bay restaurant Brixton. Karina was shaken and bleeding very badly, the staff in the restaurant rushed to her aid. They went above and beyond helping Karina, cleaning her wounded face and hands, and offering to call the emergency services, I am truly grateful. They allowed Karina time to recover even though they were finishing and cleaning up.Thank you Brixton Turtle Bay for being amazing.Dave and Karina Williams
This review is specific to the Victoria St venue in Liverpool. Following a relatively negative experience at the Hanover street branch, I took my friend for his first bottomless brunch at the Victoria Street venue for his first bottomless brunch!!All of the staff were great, the food was fantastic and the drinks far exceeded expectations. The clear stand out, and prompt for me to take the time to leave a review is due to Ellie. She was extremely personable, made my friend’s first bottomless brunch experienced something he will never forget. Restored my faith in Turtle Bay. Thank you Ellie, and thank you Victoria Street Turtle Bay!
Went knight street in Birmingham restaurant tonight for our grandson who was 18, what a disappointment that was.The staff was rude we waited ages for our drinks the food was not nice at all.so we will not be returning and I would not recommend this restaurant to any one
The manager at Exeter was lovely and helpful and we had a perfect table. The only downside was that the salmon was £14.95 with a bit of “creamed veg” (no idea what the veg was, so that was a total mystery, along with it not having any cream). It was a tiny portion if you were where to have this as a meal. We shared this as it said it’s “perfect for sharing” on the menu, but it was literally two mouthfulls each (the small salmon pieces you get from the shops) 1” x 4” ish. I would have done this at home so personally, it wasn’t special to me and didn’t want me to go back again. The cocktail was lovely but would like to see other cocktails other than rum as I know lots of people don’t like it but like the atmosphere in there. The brownies I would have again especially with the coconut ice cream. The menus are also new branding which I loved as an artist/designer but feel like it needs to be more funky like it used to be and not follow everyone else’s style.
Turtle bay used to be a fantastic place to eat.Lately it's really gone downhill. The menu has changed and become more tapas like.Lots of items have gone from the menu.Menu options just taste really bland.True various dishes over a few visits and all really flavourless and a few dishes actually weren't nice.Portions have got smaller and quite a lot of bland food. Have been 3 times recently each time thinking I may have picked a bad dish but I can't say I have enjoyed anything. The chicken roti was really poor and the fish fritters were just unfrozen and fried and hard.Jerk sauce was really watery on the chicken. Condiments removed from tables and not available at all.Even with the offers/ vouchers they give you I think that's probably my last visit to them. Which is a shame because for a number of years the food has been great.
