The worst experience I've ever had with any service or company. They advertised free distribution so I registered and uploaded well mixed and mastered song with a good quality cover image, which all easily fulfilled the requirements. It gave an error without details several times, and support couldn't explain why either. It finally went through months after uploading for the first time.

I had given up hope long ago, but a week ago I got an email that my song will be available on Spotify in two days. And behold, it finally appeared, 3 weeks short of a YEAR after uploading it for the first time. Yet it still shows with an error in the web app.

I asked the support to take it down since I don't want anything to do with a company like this. They replied that the song hasn't been published since it would require an active subscription. Yet I already listened it on Spotify a few times.

So, free distribution isn't free, yet goes through a year later. Good luck with that.

REPLYING TO UNCHAINED’S RESPONSE:
The cover art was changed when the first upload gave an error, to make sure it didn’t fail because of that. It was then reuploaded to your services with this exact cover art. I have never even tried to upload any music through any other agents. Also, until today the song showed an error on your web platform but if I clicked to it through the artist roster it showed as published. You have now changed it to “removed”, so hopefully that means it’ll be removed from Spotify as well.

Terrible and misleading service.

Terrible and misleading service.I paid for a subscription specifically because it advertised YouTube Content ID, but after payment, I was denied access to this feature with no clear justification.Instead, they falsely accused me of using AI-generated music, which is completely untrue, and failed to provide any evidence to support this claim. Key limitations were not clearly disclosed before purchase, and when I requested a refund, it was refused with generic excuses.This feels like deceptive and dishonest business practices. Very disappointing experience — I do not recommend this service.

Unprofessional and clunky experience

I have been with Unchained for almost a year on the Pro tier, and in that time there have been a multitude of complications and frustrations.One particular grievance I had was when one of my songs was falsely copyright-claimed as having used a sample from another song, simply because the titles were the same.I received some pushback when I challenged the claim as illegitimate, so I presumed it was likely made by artificial intelligence as any human reviewer would instantly hear that the song contains no such sample and doesn't sound anything like the other track. My second frustration came when I decided to release a single around April last year. I was met with Unchained's inability to process the release in a reasonable amount of time. After long periods of silence from support, I was finally able to release the single in mid-June—many months past the initial upload.The final nail in the coffin was when I decided to cancel my subscription. Although that process has been straightforward and support has been more responsive as of late, the payout system using Borderless has a minimum withdrawal of $15, so I wasn't even able to collect the few royalties I had accumulated while with Unchained.In short, I don’t recommend Unchained, as they have been inconsistent and have failed to live up to professional standards of distribution.Edit to the claim that releases are only delayed if you have failed to provide all correct information. That is a lie. Last year I provided all the proper information for my release, and before the streaming services could even be involved, Unchained failed to process and distribute the release within the time frame they claimed it would take. Only after sending support numerous emails over a long period of time, would the release go live. And all the information was easily processed by the streaming services without a problem. And I was told that my release had no problems by unchained. Trying to claim that it wasn't because of the company's lack of unprofessionalism and blaming it on the consumer, especially when that claim is false is not a good business practice.

They just flag my catalogue as something wrong. It is already out there being played all over. When I go to address the flag I cannot edit the fields. Useless service if you ask me. software doesn't work and no people to back it.

WARNING: Predatory 'Bait and Switch' Tactics regarding AI Music

I am writing this to warn other independent creators about Unchained Music’s deceptive business practices. They are currently utilizing a "Bait and Switch" tactic that targets the AI-music community.1. The Bait: Misleading "AI-Friendly" MarketingUnchained Music actively markets itself in creator communities (like Reddit and Discord) as an "AI-friendly" alternative to traditional distributors. Based on this professional image and their outreach to AI artists, I purchased a yearly subscription on February 17th.2. The Trap: Impossible RequirementsImmediately after paying, my release was rejected twice. Their support informed me that they only accept AI content if the AI model is "Fairly Trained" certified or has disclosed all its training data. Since major platforms like Suno and Udio (which 95% of AI creators use) are not currently on this specific list, Unchained effectively blocks almost all AI creators AFTER they have already paid their non-refundable subscription fee.3. Human InvolvementDespite my music showing clear human creative involvement (stem separation, re-arranging, studio editing, and mastering) and me providing full proof of my Suno Premier commercial license, Unchained Music still rejected my content. They move the goalposts by demanding a 'Fairly Trained' certification that they know 99% of AI creators cannot provide. I followed every single one of their 'human input' rules, yet they still took my money and blocked the service.4. Categorical Rejection Despite Legal LicenseDespite providing official PDF documentation of my Suno Premier License (proving I hold 100% commercial ownership), they refused to distribute my music. They lure AI creators in with "AI-friendly" slogans, knowing full well that the tools these creators use do not meet their hidden, impossible standards.5. Violation of EU Consumer RightsI requested a refund on February 20th, well within the legal 14-day withdrawal period for digital services in the EU. They refused, claiming the "service was utilized" simply because I logged in and uploaded a file. However, the core service—distribution to global platforms—was 0% delivered.Conclusion:Unchained Music collects fees from AI creators while knowingly providing an unusable service to that same group.Creators: Do not waste your money here. They will take your fee and then hide behind their "Fairly Trained" policy to block your music and keep your money.Unchained Music appears to be attempting to evade responsibility. The volume of negative reviews is indicative of a broader pattern. I ultimately secured a refund through my credit card provider.

paid money for the year like a mug been trying to upload music ger issue after issue about isrc code but when i look for code its not there so cant input it telling them i want my money back silence also use routenote no hassles what so ever with them but this site can do one
