After waiting for over an year Mini and I got the chance to ride on Virgin balloon on the 11th of August at 7PM. It was really a magical experience. We were looked after by Pete the excellent pilot and Tim and Luke on the ground. We also received excellent photos of the ride. If you get an opportunity please grab it.
Not sure that they have a balloon in Witton castle, everytime I book it gets cancelled. I have a theory, I think if they don't have enough people to take up, they blame the weather. Been cancelled several times when it as been perfect. Don't waste your money.
WOW! What an incredible experience! From the moment we arrived at the launch site to the moment we left we were laughing, learning and enjoying the whole experience! Matthew Rate and his team, John and Martin, are all fantastic and very knowledgeable. All passengers were able to participate in setting up the balloon and packing away at the end. As someone who is not fond of heights, I had no fear. I felt safe with Matthew Rate as a pilot and had the most fantastic flight. I couldn’t recommend it enough!
An all round great experience. We had the perfect morning, with a lovely sunrise and very low wind. We helped setup the ballon for take off. The whole setup and ride was done very efficiently, and safely. The views were great, and felt very peaceful and tranquil floating through the air! Adrian our pilot, and all the crew involved on the day were very friendly, helpful and made it an all round fantastic experience.
