Review Time
There was a bit of a debacle around the free cable offered in a mail if you backed within 24H that was not supposed to go out to everyone a few months back, but the team ended up handling it well and gave me the promised cable in my order. It took a few months to ship the cables due to external delays, but I was kept up to date well via mail and received them today. Overall, very happy with how everything turned out!
No good, I wouldn't buy anything from them again. I only bought a Max cable from the latest thing they did because they offered me a free one... So instead of AUD$50 for one it was AUD$25 for one which was a good enough deal for a cable. They said I only had 24 hours purchase to get the free cable. I purchased as soon as I got the email which was 4 hours after they sent the email but I never got my free cable. I emailed their support and they said I didn't order in the 24 hour window. So I showed them the email from them and my order email within 4 hours but they told me too bad. I don't like being ripped off. Definitely don't recommend.
I ordered this product nearly two months ago, mid-November 2024. Since it was intended as a Christmas gift, I checked that the delivery time was acceptable. As it stated "delivery within 1-4 days in Europe," I thought this seemed reliable. Today is January 15, 2025, and I received an email saying the product is not even in Europe yet.Completely unprofessional. I have no issue with pre-ordering something that is still in production, but the fact that they actively hide this until they have received my payment is deeply concerning.The product might be good, but I wouldn’t know…Stay away – NOT recommended.
Terrible customer support. After almost two months, my order still hadn't shipped. I asked for a refund, but there was no response. I filed a PayPal dispute, and they intentionally shipped the product, which I no longer needed. I refused the package, and it was returned to the sender, but Volta still hasn't refunded my money. I'm now waiting for PayPal's decision. Stay away from Volta; they are a scam.Update: I got my refund from PayPal today, January 20, 2025.
I initially backed the 240w Magnetic tipped cable on Kickstarter. Adedayo from Volta kept everybody updated on the progress of the campaign and manufacturing of the cables. Including has they upgraded the cables after initial testing. Having recently received the cables I am extremely impressed they seem strong with an excellent magnet and charge my Iphone and IPad perfectly. The customer service from Adedayo has also been superb.
I've had multiple tips break over time (the plastic and metal parts on the tip fully separate) and if they no longer manufacture it, they will not replace or refund the product regardless of whether it is within the warranty service window. They also reduced the warranty window from lifetime to 16 months - which doesn't even really matter anyway because the Volta 2.0 that I bought earlier this year is no longer stocked and they refused to refund or replace it.
