Review Time
My neighbour ordered 500l of heating oil to be delivered on the 19th of February. Western Fuel's delivery driver couldn't tell the difference between the numbers 1 and 2 despite both properties being clearly marked, he also lacked the ability to knock on a door to check whether he was delivering to the right place so delivered the oil to the wrong address. Unbeknownst to me he had also forced the lock on my oil tank and snapped it in half rendering it useless. I discovered this damage and delivery mistake on Friday then immediately informed my neighbour as to Western fuel's mistake and later received a call from Harry asking if they could have their oil back to which I politely agreed suggesting he arranged a date and time letting me know when they were coming. He didn't bother doing that and I was rudely awakened by one of their drivers banging on my door at 08:00hrs on Monday, then banging again, and again, then he opened my door and let himself in and started banging on my internal door. He was genuinely surprised when I opened the door and told him to F off. Received a call from Tim who said their driver was 'just in the area' and could they retrieve their oil to which I politely agreed, again. They had sent a specialist pickup truck with oil tank on the back so he obviously wasn't just in the area, he took all of the oil and scarpered without so much as an apology. I'm left with a broken oil tank lock and lid which is going to cost me £100 to replace all because a driver couldn't tell the difference between a 1 and a 2.I would 0 star this abysmal company if I could.Shameful behaviour.
I would just like to thank Western Fuel for doing a fantastic job. I had a new base and oil tank installed which took 3 days. The team of Noah, Dan, Mino and Harry were superb and worked so tidy. They suggested about changing the tank and moving the base so that it conformed to building regs. This saved me money and looks so much better so thank you again. If you want a professional company and at competitive rates give them a call. I lost £1150 by someone who did a really bad job but Western Fuel have sorted it out. I get my oil and they do my boiler service and I will not be going anywhere else.
Paid online for my oil delivery in Dec 2025 then by phone separately paid for a tank sponge, which I was assured would be on the delivery vehicle. It was not. Then in Jan 2026 I received a reminder and final warning for payment of the oil. I told them they had made a mistake and asked when was my tank sponge going to be delivered and fitted. No reply so I had to call. Then I was sent an email stating tank sponge delivery was imminent - only received about an hour notice. When once again it didn't arrive I called again to be told the delivery had been cancelled, the reason was unknown to the agent. I had not been notified. Hard to believe the good reviews elsewhere as my experience has been extremely poor admin and customer service with no apology offered for their accusation/final warning of non payment.
Ordered oil in December, a failed delivery due to access which was promptly resolved. Then they just didnt turn up, days they said they would deliver then didnt even attempt this which went on for a month. On days we were told that the delivery was due we were at home and waiting for this to happen, ensuring there would be no issued, only to be notified that they would not deliver to my property leaving me low on oil and having to arrange an emergency delivery at a much higher cost. Extremely poor service. I would like to add to my review as the reply is incorrect. There was only one incident of you being unable to deliver and evidence has only been provided for that time. Every time I was advised that a redelivery was due, I was vigilliant with access, I was always at home and my office overlooks my garden and I saw noone enter my garden, I had no knock on my door. My original order was on 17th December and now I am dangerously low on oil, I dare not turn on my heating as I work from home I am freezing.
What a shame. Having checked prices on Jan 4th, my neighbours and I, three customers, were about to place orders (which means the vehicle only travels from depot to village once, a 68 mile round trip), this morning, the 5th, and they're now the most expensive supplier by some margin. 3 customers, all within 100 yards of each other, disappointed.
