Well, let’s see… waited 3 hours for our delivery via the Chowbus. Delivery never happened.Called restaurant. They said the Chowbus people never showed up! What?! So why can’t the Chowbus peeps call us and say they’re not coming.So I drive 3 hrs later to get cold food. Now I’m trying to get the delivery charge AND the tip back.**** the Chowbus, 😞
I recieved two conflicting and delayed pickup times from chowbus that were 52 minutes apart from each other and so I waited over an hour (exactly 1 hour and 17 minutes) from the time I placed my order which originally said I would have to wait 25 minutes.
Awful experience with customer services. I've been a victim of fraud using Chowbus and customer services just ignored me after I told them about the issue. The transaction was still pending when I got in touch so maybe with some quick action it could have been resolved - but received no help at all
First time I was excited to order from here as it had Asian restaurants I didn't see before, offering delivery. But that was the exception. My wait time updated from an hour wait to 2 hr wait . I got 30 more minutes. I looked at the map and see driver is at a grocery store... I guess he had other errands to run..will never ever use this again. 2 hr wait for food, when restaurant is 15 minutes away. And the driver is doing their personal shopping while I'm guessing my food is getting cold in the car.
BEWARE! Glitchy App, Bad customer service, won't do even an in-app credit back to Chowbus on order never received. We ordered delivery like we did many times before in Chowbus app, app has always been glitchy, this time they show me restaurants both with 5 miles and over 10 miles ( they have long distance delivery). I made sure I entered my address correctly on top and it says "Deliver to", and search for the cuisine, then proceed to order from a restaurant. Then, as the time goes by, I didn't receive the delivery, chat with chowbus and the customer rep was like a robot repeating same crap to brainwash customers, first telling us our order is now a pick up, and blame it on us making a mistake for what their glitchy app did. We never picked up the order, it was way too far with traffic. Again, I did not choose "pick up" , we entered address, it says "Deliver to", then the restaurant came up in search, we ordered... And, there was also no clear confirmation when placing the order clearly showing if it was a pick up or delivery. To be courteous, knowing sometimes mishaps happen with the app, we asked for an in-app credit to make sure this money will goes back to Chowbus later. It's like giving your client a free meal for bad experience. But, service rep keep saying no and keep arguing that they cannot cancel because it is a pick up order, then, blames customer again and keep saying they cannot see any glitches on their end ( check their app store reviews, app issues all the time.). Asked us to provide screenshots knowing glitches are random... Also, they can see how many times I've ordered with them before without a fuss, and they are willing to lose a long time customer over $150ish. Since they blame the customer for their garbage app, and said they cannot do anything about it, only the restaurant can issue a refund, then what's the point of Chowbus? That means Chowbus is useless as a platform. AVOID Chowbus!!! Save time, money and trouble... There are a lot of good platforms out there. Chowbus's drivers also never follow instructions.
I should have checked all the negative reviews before trying ChowBus. Yes, you will get spoiled food delivered to your door and customer service doesn’t care. I pre-ordered dim sum with a 5-8pm delivery window. Other services like Caviar or Uber Eats would send the order to the restaurant right before intended delivery. At 1 pm I get a notice that my food was being prepared and thought it very strange. Why prepare food hours before it’s supposed to be delivered? After work at 5pm I called the restaurant and they said the driver picked up the food between 3-4pm. The order arrives at 8:30pm spoiled, cold, and leaking. Needless to say the entire $50 order went straight to the garbage. I contacted their customer service and all they did was issue a $5 credit for my food being slightly late and forward my comments to their team to make future improvements. They ignored my requests for a full refund back to my CC. So you’re saying it’s ok to put people’s lives at risk by delivering meat that has been sitting in conditions where disease growing bacteria grow best for at least 5 hours? 41-135 degrees is the danger zone and the order arrived at 80 degrees. Even for a so called “long distance” which was never indicated on the app, it doesn’t take 5 hours to drive 5 miles. Order at your own risk if you want to get serious food poisoning and terrible customer service. This company routinely violates health codes and doesn’t care.
