My wife and I travelled to Canada and upon returning to Perth, WA, both our suitcases were badly damaged.1 Cover refused an assessment based on no receipt for the 2 year old suitcases. They are a terrible company and their system you have to use to make a claim is almost impossible to use. They make it so VERY, VERY difficult on purpose so that you give up trying.1 Cover deserve a "0 STAR" - NOT 1
DO NOT GET TRAVEL INSURANCE FROM 1COVERI wouldn't take out travel insurance with 1Cover even if i needed to travel across the street. Should have read their shocking reviews before wasting my money. My recent claim for my lost phone was denied...one of the reasons was that I could not provide a picture of the phones last known location on the "Find My Phone" app...Vietnam was its last known location but that's not good enough apparently.Avoid at all costs unless you wish to waste your money!
Worst company ever. I have used Allianz in the past and they were simple and honest. As for 1cover, they chose not to cover my stolen bag, complete with police report and cancelled IMEI etc because I didn’t fly back to Australia once my insurance was up: I had my whole family insured and since they were going home while I had work to complete in Europe there was no point extending and paying for 3 people when only I was remaining. On these grounds, the fact that I didn’t return when insurance was up, they decided to not fulfil contractual obligations They used my delayed return as a get out clause which both is unscrupulous and undermines the whole concept of travel insurance: Would never use them again and am exploring possible legal action
I’ve had a fantastic experience with 1Cover Travel Insurance! Their team has always been incredibly responsive and helpful whenever I’ve needed assistance. It’s reassuring to know they’re just a call or message away, especially when dealing with the unexpected while traveling.Their customer service is top-notch, and the claims process is generally straightforward. I recommend 1Cover to anyone looking for reliable travel insurance – they’ve earned my trust completely!
My son took out 1Cover insurance for his trip of a lifetime to Europe. He didn't go for the cheapest because he wanted to be covered completely. After travelling for a few months, his grandmother got so sick that she was going to pass away. He rushed back to Australia thinking his insurance company would cover costs, but they didn't. They didn't even refund the insurance money that was paid up front when he finished his trip. The reason being is that in the policy it says that there is no cover for family members over 85 years of age there is no cover. She was 85. Nearly all of the other companies have either no age limit or a 99-year limit. We asked and begged for them to change this, and they said no. This is another cop out to stop paying claims. We asked the ombudsman to help, but all they do is push paperwork around. THEY NEED TO CHANGE THIS YEAR TO 99.DO NOT USE 1COVER!!!!! BECAUSE TO US ITS NO COVER
Missed connecting with our international flight due to a computer issue with a US domestic carrier, despite leaving 12hrs window for any unforeseen delays. Domestic carrier only refunded cost of their cancelled flight. Reasonable expectation that our 1Cover travel insurance would cover the additional $5K costs we had to pay to continue with our journey.BEWARE - 1Cover DO NOT COVER YOU for this sort of thing. So pretty much not worth the paper its written on. Will never use them again.
I use 1cover all the time .My last experience was when I went on cruise .I was advised to take cruise cover .Luckily I did because the ship didn't stop at a few ports which was disappointing but when I got home 1Cover let me put in a claim for not stopping at those ports and I was reimbursed .
be sure to read all the pages and paragraphs cos on page 72.2 it cost me $1,800 (such was my claim) but in fact is was moreThe Aussie eta app wouldn't work, during the one hour window before the Gate closed: not op iPhone or Android would this app work, to get a $70 aussie visa for four hours....in Singapore I could not board the plane to Sydney and on to Christchurch...it's what we buy insurance for, do we not?I had to purchase new Air New Zealand plane tickets to get me home.Thank Christ for my priceless MasterCard.... Don't buy their insurance.
