I had to cancel my travel insurance policy after my tour was cancelled due to the middle east conflict. Under 1Cover's rules, I was eligible for a partial refund. I completed the online application and received an immediate auto-generated reply advising me of a full refund. That was processed overnight with a credit in my account this morning. This is the way for companies to gain customer loyalty. Well done 1Cover!

FRAUDS! We took out cover for our honeymoon for lost belongings, flight cancellations, accommodation etc. During our trip a valuable designer item was lost/ stolen. We made the necessary reports and when we returned home when the item had not been found we made an insurance claim on 6th January.Endless back and forth and jumping through hoops eventually had us receive an email from 1Cover saying they finally had everything they needed to provide an outcome and we would hear from them within 20 days. That was on the 25th January.Liars and Scammers - save your money and choose another insurance provider.
Absolute worst experience I’ve had with travel insurance. Asking for ridiculous documents following a 24 hour delayed flight. Asking for itinerary from Australia a month before and documents that don’t exist. Every time I respond it takes ages for them to respond. Not worth the headache. Will use covermore next time as they were so much more pleasant when I used them in 2019. Don’t recommend.
Purchased a comprehensive policy with highest level of cover. Lost an iPhone and Kindle on our first leg of flight and understood personal items where insured. Beware policy does not cover much and is not worth the paper it is written on. I suggest rather use covermore or chubb or anyone else. In the fine print which nobody reads 40 pages into the policy they exclude most items. Why call a policy comprehensive when it is basic. Annualized the policy cost $6000 per annum. Not cheap and not honorable policy. I would say grossly misrepresented and misleading. Go elsewhere
I would give Zero stars if I could. This company is not ethical… DO NOTE USE THEM. On a recent trip to Japan where I lost my phone while transfer between a slow train and bullet train. I made a claim, James asked for more information on 3 occasions over a 2 week period and then finally James told me I needed to close my lost and found claim with JR rail before they move ahead. Within less than 1 business of confirming with James day of closing my JR lost and found case, my claim was denied. I have no phone and 1 cover have made sure I will never see my old phone again… James made me close my final avenue to get my phone back. I feel very manipulated and also now exposed because they asked for more detailed banking information long the way even know my claim was always going to be denied.
As insurance companies go, these guys are pretty good. After our recent trip to Europe, I made a claim on some non-refundable accommodation that we were unable to use because the airline (KLM) was unable to get us there and I also claimed on some additional travel costs we incurred (thanks again KLM). It took plenty of to and froing with 1Cover, lots of explaining and providing supporting documentation seemingly multiple times, but in the end, they came through.I think they and most insurance companies take the approach that they make claimants jump through lots of hoops in the hope that the people will give up, or at least that the fraudulent claimers will be unable to provide the required evidence. So, the lesson in all of this is keep everything relating to your travels, every email, text message, screenshot…be polite but persistent. Would I use them again? Yes, I would. I’ve heard plenty of bad reviews of travel insurance companies and some of their premiums are diabolically expensive. Cover1 was reasonably priced and came through on the claim so I really can’t fault them.
This travel insurance company will NOT cover things that fellow passengers (using different companies) got refunded for.We had a flight cancelled and needed to buy an alternative flight, but THIS company managed to create an excuse to avoid refunding us despite other fellow travellers in our tour group being able to claim.I would NEVER EVER EVER use them again
