I reached out to the service for a small job that needed urgent attention to restore my water supply. An engineer was expected to arrive within 2 hours but ended up taking 6 hours. They refused to disclose the cost of the work beforehand, and once completed, I was informed I owed £489 for less than an hour's labor without any materials (I live in the north of England, not paying London prices). I felt compelled to pay as the technician was waiting for the transfer before leaving, and being a woman living alone, it was quite intimidating. Upon researching how to reclaim my money due to the illegal overcharging, I discovered that the service has no physical presence in the UK and operates solely through subcontractors. I strongly advise against using this service - you will likely be taken advantage of.
I contacted this service for a small job that needed immediate attention to restore my water supply. An engineer was promised within 2 hours but took 6 hours to arrive. They wouldn’t disclose the cost beforehand, and after the job, I was charged £489 for less than an hour of labor without any materials (I reside in the north of England, so I shouldn’t be paying London rates). When I looked into how to get my money back due to illegal overcharging, I found out that the service has no physical presence in the UK and operates only through subcontractors. I strongly recommend avoiding this service - you'll likely be ripped off.
I called yesterday because I had no hot water, and they said it would be a £49 call-out charge plus VAT. The plumber who came was great, but when it came to the cost of fixing the water pressure, the service tried to charge me £389. I refused to pay that for a job that took only 20 minutes; I managed to negotiate it down to £250, which was still hard to believe. They wouldn’t provide a set price over the phone, even after I explained it was a specific fault. The plumber was good, but the service is clearly scamming customers.
Total scam. I admit it was my fault for not thinking clearly, but I came home on Boxing Day to no heating or hot water. In a panic, I called this service and ended up getting scammed like others here. A simple re-pressurization of the boiler took 10 minutes and cost me £439. I don’t understand how companies like this operate without regulation.
Outrageous pricing. A £49 call-out fee, then £300 for a job that took less than 10 minutes to tighten a kitchen tap that was supposed to stop a leak. I was shocked at the cost! After the technician left, we discovered the leak was still present, so I called back. A representative promised to send the engineer again, but after several calls, no one showed up. The next morning, they claimed no record of my follow-up. Eventually, the engineer arrived and said I needed a new tap, which he had on his van for an additional £60. Out of desperation on Christmas Eve, I agreed to this, only to find even more water the next day. A different plumber explained that the repairs had been overtightened, damaging the washers and valves. I’ve emailed the service for a refund, but after reading other complaints, I don't expect a reply or refund. I feel like just another elderly customer who has been taken advantage of. The cost was shocking. The engineer called the office for pricing and told them he was there for 10 minutes. I was utterly taken aback! He insisted that if I didn't pay £349, his van wouldn't leave my property. This service should be reported to trading standards and shut down, which I plan to do after the holidays. If I could give zero stars, I would. Over £400 for worse leaks than I started with, which is half my pension for the month. I'm devastated and financially strained!
We were scammed by this service as well. We booked an emergency visit for a leaking pipe with a £49 call-out fee. The technician came and couldn't fix the leak, in fact, he made it worse and charged us £459. They are nothing short of hooligans. They should be barred from operating and removed from plumbing services.
My 92-year-old father, who has multiple health issues, was scammed for £390 cash for a 20-minute visit with no work performed, no receipt, no quote, and no contact information. When I called the service, I was dismissed. I am currently seeking legal advice to recover this outrageous theft from a vulnerable elderly person. Avoid this service at all costs.
Avoid this service. I called to book an emergency plumber when my heating wasn’t working. They stated a £49 call-out fee, but failed to mention this was only for assessing the work needed. If he provided a quote, that would be extra too! I called them back 30 minutes later because I realized I was covered for plumbing under warranty, but they told me I couldn't cancel because the plumber was on his way. Sure enough, the plumber arrived just a minute later, with no tools and his car parked far away. He could hardly speak any English. Thankfully, I didn’t let him in. He asked for £49, but when I requested an invoice, he mumbled something and drove off. I asked for ID, but he had none. After reading the reviews, I’m relieved he didn’t do any work; who knows what kind of bill I could have faced! Disgraceful.
