I had a confirmed reservation with AddCar in Rovaniemi train station (booked via DiscoverCars). When I arrived at the train station at the agreed time, no representative was present.

The instructions said to call upon arrival so someone could meet me. I called multiple times with no answer. After repeated attempts, I was informed there was an overbooking issue and that this had supposedly been communicated to me and accepted — which is NOT true.

After waiting more than an hour without a car or a clear solution, I had no choice but to book a vehicle directly from SIXT at the last minute, which resulted in significantly higher costs.

Although I was refunded for the original booking (thankfully via DiscoverCars), the situation caused substantial stress, delay, and additional expense.

I strongly advise others to avoid this company, even if the prices seem attractive, and book with a reliable provider instead. Based on my experience, the situation was highly unprofessional and misleading.

Extremely disappointing experience.

Extremely disappointing experience. We reserved three vehicles online through a platform known for its low prices. However, upon our arrival at the airport, we were informed of an additional charge of 300 euros per vehicle, claiming our online insurance was not valid for them. Additionally, they insisted we needed 'extra insurance' due to not having an international driving license, on top of the 900 euro deposit they requested. We decided against taking the cars, but during the dispute with the representative, it appeared they recorded my credit card details (they had requested my passport, license, and card for the deposit) because just three days later, there were six unauthorized charges on that card totaling 620 euros. Since the card was issued, it had not been used for any online transactions. The only time it could have been captured was while it was left on the desk for several minutes. This feels like a significant scam and involves very untrustworthy individuals!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Absolutely unbelievable. We arrived at the airport on the evening of the 21st and went to the shuttle pick-up area, where I waited for the shuttle. I called the company multiple times before getting a response. When I inquired about the shuttle's arrival, I was told it would be soon (it was not). After confirming my booking over the phone, the shuttle driver informed me that there might not be any vehicles available. Upon reaching the rental location, I was told there were no cars left despite my confirmed booking. The representative at the desk stated there was nothing she could do and then closed up and left. Many others at the airport shared similar frustrations. The shuttle driver mentioned they had run out of cars by six pm. This service feels like a complete scam.

Frustrating Return Process

The initial pickup was smooth, but returning the car was a frustrating experience. The attendant quickly pointed out a minor scratch that was difficult to see. This seemed unreasonable given the larger scratches already present. Consequently, I was charged an excessive fee for repairs. With my flight approaching, I felt pressured to sign the return form without contesting the charge. Although the rental fee appeared low, the company seems to profit from hidden fees and dubious damage claims. The attendant's focus on that specific area indicated a premeditated approach.

Avoid This Company – Misleading Practices

I rented a vehicle expecting to pick up from one company, but upon arrival, I found it was a completely different entity with a poor reputation. This was a significant red flag — they use another name to obscure their real reviews. After checking online, I found numerous negative reviews about the service. The car I received had various scratches and damages, and instead of documenting them, they suggested I 'make a video' — a tactic many other customers have noted. At drop-off, they charged me €335 for a minor scratch, and I observed others facing similar charges. This is not typical and suggests a business model focused on extracting money from customers. The staff exhibited unprofessional behavior, lacking customer service and transparency. My experience was unlike any other I've had renting cars globally. This company misrepresents itself and exploits tourists. Avoid them at all costs.

I had some reservations based on prior reviews but called ahead and spoke with a representative who eased my concerns. Whenever I contacted their direct line, I received prompt responses. The check-in process was quick, and the staff were polite and helpful. I had positive interactions with several representatives. I would gladly choose this rental service again.

Warning – False Damage Claims

Avoid this service at all costs. I received a different vehicle than what I booked — one already covered in scratches and dents. There was no inspection or documentation before taking the car. Upon return, they falsely claimed a minor mark was 'new damage.' Additionally, they processed two unauthorized charges on my card. These charges are now disputed with my bank as they were made without consent. Instead of addressing the issue professionally, the company sent a threatening email accusing me of fraud. This behavior is completely unacceptable. They engage in false damage claims, unauthorized charges, and intimidation tactics, all while providing terrible customer service. Save yourself the hassle — do not rent from this company.

Poor Experience with Deposit Refund

I returned my rental car on the agreed date and time, expecting my deposit to be refunded within 48 hours as per the terms. However, over a week has passed, and I have yet to receive it. Despite sending several emails and making multiple calls, I have received no response. The company is difficult to reach and offers no explanation for the delay. This service is very disappointing — I would not recommend them and urge others to be cautious regarding deposit refunds.

Beware of Hidden Fees

The cost nearly tripled when I arrived to collect the vehicle. If you lack insurance from their preferred companies or a newer vehicle, they force you to buy their insurance at $40 per day. They also charge $25 for each toll unless you activate their toll package for $10 per day, plus the actual toll prices. I strongly advise against using this service!

Mixed Experience with Rental

I found a great rate for a rental through a booking platform. Currently, I am still in the middle of my rental period, but here’s my experience so far. They required my car insurance information first, and when my coverage was deemed insufficient, I had to purchase their insurance. Although I had enough liability coverage, they did not accept the collision insurance from my credit card. Sadly, I had to pay an extra $30 per day. Additionally, they pressured me into their toll package options, which seemed excessive. The promised rate was significantly lower than what I ended up paying. I gave 3 stars because, despite the bait-and-switch tactics, the overall cost was still less than other major rental companies.
